For me, the LSD was the key motivator for the Sports package. I turned off the SRM after playing with it a couple of days and haven't turned it back on. I like the forged 19" wheels, but would prefer forged 18" given the pavement quality around here and the weight of the larger wheels on track days. The spoilers are a mixed blessing, especially the front one. My rear one has a tendency to fill with water if it sits out in a thunderstorm, then dump all over the side of the car when the hatch is opened.

All told it is worth the extra $3k if you want this stuff. If you are financing your car, this is a definite advantage vs. buying better aftermarket alternatives piecemeal later.

Others make a good point about aftermarket vs. Sport package. Indeed, I would prefer a gear driven Quaife LSD, and an aftermarket big brake kit with stiffer calipers than the Akebonos, and slotted rotors. Forged 18" wheels, etc. In other words, I'd prefer different options than the sport package offers, but would I actually find the money to get all this stuff? Not in the first year, that's for sure. So for me the Sport package is a great deal, priced well, and enhances my enjoyment of the vehicle. That lets me spend my enhancement money on exhaust, cats, intake instead of stuff that I got "free" as part of the Sport pack.

Happy camper!

What "necessities" come with the Touring? You do mean more like "nice-eties", right?

Not getting the Sport package is pretty much fial when buying this car unless, like it's been said, you plan on building a track car or plan on upgrading the wheels/tires/brakes/LSD/aerodynamics immediately. The SRM is just a bonus, and a cool one at that. The items included are worth so much more than what you're charged for them.

Like many others I bought the sport package because of the LSD, the SRM is cool, but I rarely use it

I LOVE the SRM! Also, big Brakes, super lightweight rims (I hate heavy rims) and LSD made me add the sports package. You can't go wrong with it. For $2602, it's worth it! Maybe you can find someone to trade your car here? Though I highly doubt someone will go from sports to non sports.
