touring vs base with sport
Well i recently bought a touring w/o sport. i thought long and hard about either getting touring w/o sport or base with sport. I decided to go with touring bc since its a daily driver, i would rather have the necessities that come with touring. Also because I was planning on switching wheels and adding on a bbk. Now i sorta regret not getting sport because of SRM. Is SRM that much of a need. IMO having SRM on the track would shave off only a second. What is yalls opinions.

It certainly isn't a need.....but it sure is fun to downshift fast and those revs match exactly. Makes for much smoother deceleration.
I do like to toe-heal from time to time so its nice to be able to switch it off and go back to analog mode when the feeling strikes One of my main reasons to get the sports package was the lsd....big regret of mine was getting the base 350z instead of the enthusiast so I didn't want to make the same mistake twice. |

Personally, I can't purchase a sports car without the performance enhancement options included. In this case, the Sports Package just suits the Z so well that it would feel incomplete without it.
The beauty of the SRM is it can be switched off. So if one finds it offensive, simply turn it off. The benefits of having LSD is also a major plus with sports cars like the Z. And for the price with what's included in the package, I think it's a great deal to pass up. Last edited by RDGR12; 07-22-2009 at 02:10 PM. |

Could I rev-match my G35? Yes... could I do it as well as the computer can? No... Just like w/ a single clutch sequential - the computer does it as perfectly as a human could EVERYTIME... just like that the revmatch is perfect everytime... something a human could never do...

Its a sports car - the Sports package is all but a given. People spend absurd amounts on paint protection, etc but skimp on the performance gained from the Sports package. I can see if you are buying the car to build as track or race car getting a base model but I don't see any other reason not to get the sports package. Its a great value - just the wheels and tires alone are close to the cost of the package not to mention the bigger brakes (over half the cost of the package) as well as the looks/performance of the additional aerodynamics. The SRM is likely a big resale feature. Speaking of resale the Sports package items will enhance the value of the car unlike adding aftermarket parts which tends to devalue a car at times... sports is a no-brainer unless you are building up from a base platform.
