Preferred short shifter?
So, the two complains I have with my car are #1, the rear wheel offset they're too far back and not flush. I'm working on finding a set of wheels to replace the stockers. #2, is that the stock shifter is kind of spongy. So what short shifter does everyone recommend? I see that b&m makes one, and there was a group buy for shifters on this forum, butnim don't know which to go after. Also, if anyone knows of a good installer in Houston please let me know! Thanks!

The TWM short shifter takes all the play out of it ,it makes it feel very mechanical and of course a little shorter in throw.

I have a TWM short shifter and TWM Big Type R knob (600g). The throw is definitely reduced almost to a fault. Shifting is more difficult and notchy and somewhat annoying for a daily driver.
I keep missing third and going into fifth but that's just me. At this point, I might put a short extension or go back to the stock shifter but keep the heavy knob. But is the TWM a quality product? Absolutely top notch. Is it right for me? Maybe not. I'm still forcing myself to like it and that shouldn't be. |

TWM, with a stainless PWJDM knob.

Yea I want to keep it close to stock so maybe ill just get some nismo wheels. Really like how they look. As for the short shifter, I don't like high shifters. I want one that sits lower, even if its just the knob. And I like round knobs over the nismo straight knob. I just bought a ball knob off the classifieds, well see how that one works for the firmness. I just put the car in the air today and the back right side under the car has some bolts that are JACKED UP. looks like someone at the dealer ran over something or a bad test drive or something. Think that's something I can get fixed under warranty or do I have to take it back to the dealer I got it from? Cause that would mean driving it back to Dallas from Houston.

I really do like the stock tranny in our cars but the stock shifter does leave allot to be desired. I'll have to check out more on the twm shifter. Looks awesome...

First I got a heavier shift knob from twm which was definitely an improvement. Then I got the short throw kit which made the throws accurate but too hard to shift fast, so I now have the 4" exstension and now it's perfect.

I have a PWJDM shift knob, it came with the car but I have test drove several ones with a stock knob and all I hated how the throw felt. Does anyone have any experience with the AMS SS?
