If you served during a time of war, or at all. Post your Branch, Job, and where you served.any awards worth mentioning? To all the vets out there thank you.I'm kinda curious as who has served. It always surprises me that the people who you least expected have served.

Interesting to see the ANA carrying the old Canadian C7 rifle! When I was over, they only had AK's still. Canada supplied the ANA with our old C7's to get them down to the NATO standard 5.56 round.

Jordan11b 04-09-2013 07:48 AM

Yea the ANA now have the C7/M-16. ANP, and ABP still have the AK tho.

US Army from July 2001 to July 2005
11B Infantry stationed at Ft. Lewis WA
E-5 when I ETS

Deployed to Iraq in Nov 03 to Nov 04 with the first Stryker Brigade to ever deploy. After I got out of the military, I got a job training soldiers with the company that makes the Stryker vehicle. So its almost as if I've never left the Army since I train soldiers on weapons and other equipment on a daily basis for the past 7 1/2 years.

I'm the young kid kneeling. This was 02, we deployed with 2/75 Ranger Battalion to Roswell NM to do an airfield seizure. Pretty cool stuff.

I live less than two miles from Luke. I love hearing the flyovers and such.

My Grandpa was retired AF and when I was a kid we'd go out to the end of the runways and watch the F16s take off and land at Luke. Was so cool, but now we can't stop along the road and do that anymore.

What's wrong with Phoenix?! It's beautiful here. Warm in the Summers, yes, but the Winters (or really lack thereof) make up for it.

Don't worry, people still park there all the time, even though there are signs posted. Makes me want to give them one in the head, 2 in the chest to free the gene pool of their stupidity.

I had no problems with Phoenix as a city, it was the Base/Squadron that I hated.

I'd save that ammo for the City of El Mirage when they try and get Luke shut down again for being "too loud", however, they were the ones that built their city around an existing AFB. :shakes head:

You should do a google search for the Public Affairs 2LT who wrote a letter to the Phoenix Paper in response to all of those people... Let's just say, it was a GOOD read. :icon17:

I did find this one - I'm not too familiar with the ranks and such, so it may be the same (says Lt. Colonel) story that you're talking about?

That one is epic and sends chills down your spine, but that's not the one I was talking about. That was in relation to a specific event.
