Please help pinpoint why car won't start(not steering column lock)

Hey everyone, a couple of months back my car wouldn't start due to the steering column lock failure and I was able to "fix" it by banging on the unit and pulling out the fuse(thanks to the info I gathered here).

Today, my car wouldn't start again except the symptoms are very different from the steering column issue. When I try to start the car as normal, I can hear the car crank as normal along with the ignition switch cycling all the way through "ON", except the starter would simply die when it should be starting.

My main suspect right now is obviously the starter because my car started cranking a lot longer than usual to start right around the time I pulled the fuse for the steering column. I didn't mind the extended cranking duration because I've read pulling that fuse extends the car's "startup diagnosis check" so I assumed it was normal.

Should I even bother reinstalling the fuse or jump starting the battery? My car is out of warranty so I am trying to do everything in my own power before I have to tow it out of my apt garage.

Thanks.

Always start w/the battery. You'll feel like a dunce if you do a ton of work, etc. and it turns out to be the battery (I've been there).

Are your problems like mine:

I would agree with Haboob check battery, is it the original battery in the car?

If the engine is turning over but you get no spark, I would look at fuel delivery (pump) or the crankshaft position sensor.

I would check the starter always start there if the engine cranks then the distributor is shot. No mater if the car is original or not.

It's the starter. I have a Lincoln SUV and a 1965 chevy impalla both had the same problem it's the starter

And I used to own a Nissan 370z convertible and I lost control of it. But I still own it but very smashed up and I still use the parts but I know what I'm talking about

You are aware that NISSAN has a Steering Lock Replacement Campaign?

Meaning it gets replaced for free. :)
