Texas Road Trip

I just got back from a two day road trip up thru East Texas. Back roads, stayed off the main highways. Just great. Rolling hills, sweeping curves, and smooth roads. BUT!! The best is driving the car. Really driving the car. I have learned just how boring 65 mph is . 80 is cruising, 90 is a blast! 70 & 80 around these curves, all day long ...... I can't describe it. It's an amazing car.
Cheers

Sounds great, I am in the middle of moving to "Hill Country" area, and looking forward to driving the back roads. :driving:

Must be a blast on the bike too, can't wait to settle down there, out of the cold North East :happydance:

I love driving the Z in E. Texas. There are some amazing back roads without a single car for miles, nice sweeping banked curves, friendly people at every little family owned restaurant.

The Hill Country is also great place for the Z to stretch its legs. The 'Devil's Backbone' is a great drive and a tour through Wimberley, Luckenbach, Enchanted Rock State Park, Marble Falls, Lost Maples State Park etc. is in the works :stirthepot:

Re: What gear, I am an automatic guy. I drove both before buying this one, and the auto works best for me. To "alvitdk".....I have done a little of the hill country, and am looking forward to more. A good friend lives in Fredericksberg, so I have a nice place to stay and use as a base. Right now, the hill country roads are covered up with motorcycles and tourist, because it's Blue Bonnet season. So now is not the time ......Cheers,
Chuck

Ugh, now I'm going to have to take a long weekend and go up to Northern AZ where there are some hills and twisties.

The Valley is so blah, straight, and flat.

Yeah, I heard about big turism in the area, I bought a nice piece of land in New Braunfels area, and are just in the planning stage with the builder to get the house designed. Hopefully this was my last winter in NY. :happydance:

I am from East Texas and we have great roads to play around on in that area. One of the biggest reasons I love going home and visiting family!!!

Lots of 3rd and 4th gear action. Some 2nd and 5th depending on how fast you want to go, where you want your RPMs to be, ect.
