The 370z is slow?
So, someone I know had a discussion with me and said the 370Z is slow! I personally don't have a z but I have a 2010 maxima, but I know the Zs are quick as ****. Now he said a evo is fast and he was praising the evo, but as soon as I said z, he shifted gears lmfao. I mean his opinion. Give me some reason why this ***** is a fucccck boy.

slow is subjective.
People might think a Z is slow, others might think a Prius is slow (they're really not), and others might think a GTR is slow. Whatever. |
The EVO is quick. But, I don't like the look or feel of it on the road. AWD has a good potential, and better application in rally/bad weather, but I prefer to be able to easily swing my arse wide and with stride.
You want 'quick', get an EVO or Si. You want 'fast', get American muscle. You want 'sport', get a Z. You wanna look like a douche, BMW. lol |
stock vs. stock....close, but the Z edges them both out, put some mods behind the Evo and that changes

Compare and contrast for yourself.

"Slow" is subjective. To me, slow is 14 seconds or more on the 1/4 mile. Anything in the 13 second range is quick. 12 and under is fast. That's just me.

Is this thread for real? The Z is quick. The Evo has an advantage being turbo and AWD. There's always someone faster so I don't lose sleep over it. The Evo is and will always be boy racer.

My car is bone stock and the only pushing me out of the way, on a good day on the Autobahn is something like a GT3 or Turbo 911. They have much more horsepower but they are not blowing me off the road in anyway. There is always something quicker or more powerful but in the US at 68mph on cruize control is there any debate to begin with LOL!??? If you get to drive this car they way I am lucky to enjoy it the debate is useless bar talk. This car gets it done and well. Reliably to boot with reasonable fuel economy as a bonus. The Z is a great package. NO question. :driving: |

(Still jelly you get the autobahn and i have 68 on a U. S. highway ;) ) |

The car is great at any speed. I love the feel this car gives at any speed. The acceleration, handling and overall driving experience is very pleasing. Also the car is not a boat like so many higher powered vehicles as well. The size even here is great as parking around this part of the world is tight sometimes! I think we would all enjoy it more if we just not worry so much about the term 'speed' :) |
This is the OP's one and only post
Don't take it seriously |

 exactly why i chose it  :) Quote:

The Evo feels faster than the Z only because the turbo kicks in at low RPM and put you back to the seat hard. But the Z gets more power when it revs up at higher rpm. Although the z feels more linear, it's no slower than the Evo if it's not faster.

A Maxima w/CAI blows the doors off of the Evo and Z. True sports car there.

If it's "Faster than a Redneck" then I guess it's fast. If not, then I guess it's slow. Why am I posting in this stupid thread?

Right when I saw this I thought you were talking about annoying member Driftkr6l and his annoying thread in another section here.
But the Z is faster than the Evo around the track. Although the Evo inspires more confidence as it has AWD. With two inexperienced drivers, the Evo would win. With two experienced drivers, the Z would win. |
Good observation yeah that drift kid was an idiot. You don't come into a forum and talk about the subject matter of the exact reason the forum was made.

After owning a highly modded c-5 vette and 03 mustang cobra, the 370z is honestly the slowest car of all of them. With the exception of the mustang with the weight to hp ratio. The mustang is around 4k and the 370 and corvette weigh about the same around 3200k.
So you gain extra hp verse a mustang because of the lower weight. But I must say out of all of them, the 370 handles that best and I'm very happy with the hp rating for now. I can always upgrade more later on. My guess is if you bought the 370, it wasn't for max hp. I'm very happy with my 370 and the price that I paid brand new. To each his own. |
umm... why has nobody IBTL'd yet? firsties!

OP's Fvcktard friend will lose steam at 110mph and the Z will chugg along with loads of power till it hits around 140-146mph, then you feel a sudden, drop in aggression in the Z. Even still, the Z can reach its top speed of 155mph with enough torque to still be satisfying. Try that in a stock EVO, anything over 120mph will feel annoying. The only advantage evo really has is $3,000 will get them 80 extra hp. $3,000 will get us 20hp. |
The Z isn't "slow". I would personally define it as pretty quick, but not "fast".
Low 13 seconds in the quarter is no slouch. Get into 10s and 11s... I'd call that pretty damn fast. The Z is a well-balanced sports car for a decent price. It's quick, agile, and attractive with a nice interior. |

So he makes an account to post his troll session, that's all I see. Not like we've never seen this debate. I wouldn't mind seeing this thread cleaned and the mods telling him it's useless. IBTL

I had a 1993 twin turbo RX7. That thing was really really quick. The 2800lb car helped too. When I would floor it passengers would squirm in their seat and most would yell " holy $hit." It would just keep pulling. It was a blast.

To many people look at it in all the wrong ways.
If you really want to solve it all. Two cars, two drivers, and on a road course. Let's see who's the fastest driver. PERIOD. |

Sometimes I don't understand people spends 3000 words on arguing a 0.2s difference on 0-60 and blah blah... What does that really mean when driving on the street?? Do you really need to go to that Mac-Mac-drive-thru 0.2s faster than the other dude?? Should look at the whole package, value, handling and fun-factor. Quote:

[QUOTE=Eagle;2254359]Accelerator recall?
is there really an accelerator recall? When and what years? |
#1 I don't believe that AWD gives you an edge on the track, or in any way improves the cars handling (unless on unstable surfaces, which should not be on a track in the first place)
#2 I didn't buy the Z because of its 1/4 mile capabilities... .2 seconds? really?? #3 Are there faster cars out there?? Of course. If I had wanted one of them, I would have bought it. Lovin' my Z:tiphat: |
Yup, I've noticed it's slow. My Z is almost always going to same speed as the other cars on the road.
Prime example, earlier today I was getting on the freeway and it was only going 30MPH when I got through the intersection and then I had to shift into 2nd just to get onto the freeway. I only had one thought the whole time, "No cars in front of m...", and then bam I was up to freeway speeds and she stopped accelerating. I think I might regret buying a Z, but maybe I just got the wrong color? Is the red one faster? |
