That change will be recorded against your VIN. Anything that is warranty will be annotated in the system and when pulling the VIN for warranty records stuff like that will show up.

I learned the hard way. Did the same thing but didnt ask for warranty work, just assumed it was all tied together. When I went in for an oil consumption test at 38k, which I failed and in turn got a new short block, they stated that the motor that I was looking at wasnt the original. I about blew a f-ing gasket in service bay. I told them I had came in when I first was looking at the car and asked a service advisor to tell me if there was anything out of the norm with this car regarding the service records. I was told nothing but the typical oil change stuff. The warranty claims manager stated he more than likely didnt click to pull up warranty work. I was irrate to say the least. Told them I would have never bought the GD car if I would have known that.... SO MAD.....
