The 91 and the 10 are what i considered the worst freeways..you would think they will repair the cracks and stuff with all the tax money..

Since I've bought my Z this has been the main source of damages. Not long after I bought it a rock hit the windshield and it had to be replaced because the crack extended to the edge of the windshield. Best part is no one was in front of me for like a quarter mile, must have been flung from opposing traffic.
Then I hit a piece of a tire going about 70mph at night on the highway here, didnt see it until the last second and couldn't get over because of traffic, and it cracked my front lip, buckled under the car exiting the side, and also cracked the side skirt. This is why we can't have nice things.

Our freeways physically aren't as bad as what y'all are describing, but there seem to be a ton of rocks. Even just small pebbles you can barely hear hitting your car seem to chip the **** out of the front end. About a month into ownership I had a rock get flipped up and chip my windshield, then about a half mile later, another chipped the roof.
Then there's five small chips on my hood now, but never heard anything hit it. And a huge gash on the front of the bumper - a rock went through my clear bra. The bra has other battle scars, but only one has penetrated it so far. x1000 |

Yeah, just last week I watched a ladder fall off the truck directly in front of me here in San Diego. Those things are harder to miss when they are still moving on the ground. I did miss it, but a couple cars behind me were not so lucky. (Also, I wasn't driving my Z.)

I believe I had a way worse experience than you. My brand new 911, with only 600 miles, lost her virginity when a piece of debris shot back from the car ahead of me into the front bumper, damaging the aluminum tub that secures the front trunk compartment, but also acts as a structural piece. I'm just about to get it back from the repair shop now, where it took longer than it took to make the entire car from scratch. UGH it boils my blood just thinking about it. I'm seriously scared to go on busy freeways now.

Cars like that are meant for remote canyon roads and show rooms, definitely not for busy freeways. Its like driving through a mine field. Rock chips alone will make your heart bleed |

LMAO at the couch in the middle of the freeway. That's a hardcore spot to set your couch at to catch some views, or TV.
Driving on any freeway, you're going to get hit by some rock flying off another vehicle's rear tires. Just stay far away from the vehicle in front of you and to the side. There was a yellow school bus that was on my right (while on the freeway), and it kicked a rock at my 370Z windshield. Fortunately, it didn't put a scratch on it, but the sound was pretty loud. At high speeds, sounds and impacts are multiplied x times even if it's a small object. The Sienna mini van I drive sometimes, got a chip on the windshield from a rock, while also driving on the freeway. Imagine that hitting your head, neck or shirt if you were on a motorcycle. I also got rear ended at 60 MPH, while stopped at a light, in the mini van. Anyone here ever been in a large metal object while being hit by another large metal object at 60 MPH? It's quite loud and a bit disturbing to say the least. |

I feel your pain! I finally broke down and bought a daily driver. The relief from the stress of trashing the Z is amazing.
I'm in Houston too, and have dodge everything from a couch on I-45 to tire shards from a blow out in front of me. I got the same loud "thump" when the carcass bounced off the rear fender and roof.
