Dont Flame me

i feel like giving up on this z purchase no dealer is willing to come down on price....freak man. i found a 2lt camaro for 22k 2012...with like 11k miles

i cant seem to find any z's that are white or gunmetal even 2011 for CLOSE to that price.
lowest i got so far was 30k.....

then joe from koeppel nissan said just get a new 2013 for 0apr financing. said it would be the same price as a 2012 with interest but the OTD price is 38k...
im at a loss, i cant handle that right now. what should i do. Im actually thinking of going to see this camaro....

kenchan 04-02-2013 03:43 PM

can't cause i cant see your post. :icon17:

DEpointfive0 04-02-2013 03:43 PM

22k is pretty low for a 370Z brother

In any case, keep us posted as to what you end up doing, we're lovers of ALL cars here and their owners are always welcome

SS_Firehawk 04-02-2013 03:47 PM

That Z is in a completely different league than that V6 Camaro and depreciates much less. It will be difficult to find a dealer willing to sell a clean 2011 for under 30k unless it's a strippo or a lot of mileage. Maybe you should start looking here in the vehicle threads. There are a lot of clean examples

OP: I say abandon the Z and get yourself a nice Prius Spec-R or Prius SS. Don't forget a helmet too.

Minsu 04-02-2013 03:47 PM

i mean im not trying to get the z for 22k i was hoping i can get a 2011 or 2012 for under 28k OTD but no one and i mean NO ONE is willing to come down on that.
im getting retardedly frustrated of this car purchase. I always wanted a z but im thinkin i just get the camaro now and the z later or something.

i dont want to make a financial mistake too young for that.

i want to be comfortable in the car, but i also dont want to regret getting a second choice car because i couldnt afford the first. am i being blinded by the z or which do you think is smarter

yea but i cant pay the forum member full cash. hes not a dealer so i cant give him a 13k downpayment and an IOU for the rest.

unless im misinformed and there are ways of doing this

enkei2k 04-02-2013 03:49 PM

In all honesty, if you're having such a hard time settling for a Z, maybe it's not right for you. Move on with your life. Join the Camaro5 forum and leave the370z behind.

If a Z is too expensive for you, get the Camaro and just be done with it. Enjoy a new car. If you REALLY and truly wanted a Z, you would have got one by now, because if you really want something, you'll get it no matter the cost.

Or the alternative is just to wait for at least another 3-4 years or so for the prices of Z's to drop and pick one up then.

I don't like OTD prices because I don't know what fees are in NJ, but assuming $3-4k is TTL, you SHOULD be able to find a base 2011 for around 25k... Just gotta look in further locations... Fùck it... Shoot me a text, lets find you a car (31O)eight nine three-42O7

You can walk into a bank and get a loan, and the bank will pay the guy

MX52Z 04-02-2013 03:53 PM

https://www.roadloans.com/. Can pay an individual. I also got pre approved from Wells Fargo back when I was shopping around but they weren't the best interest rate.

You dont have to pay cash. You go to your credit union and apply for financing to buy a car from an individual seller. Your credit union will tell you how much you are approved for., and you shop on that basis. If they say you are approved for $25k (for example), hit the forums and look for one around that cost. Make the seller an offer, and if they agree, the bank will send them a check. You will just pay your monthly payment to the bank. Hope this helps..

xxAGAVExx 04-02-2013 03:56 PM

Get an 09, u can find some with about 30k miles for under $25k

enkei2k 04-02-2013 04:04 PM

Thing is, OP doesn't have any credit history so he'll get raped on interest depending on where he goes. Or, if the OP wants, he can try to apply for PenFed.

IF he wants to get a Z and not get hurt on interest, he should just go to Joe @ Koeppel and take the 0% that he offered on the 2013's.

MJB 04-02-2013 04:07 PM

OP, to be honest I just think the 370z is just a little out of your league, no offense by that.. What I mean is you said in a previous thread you were what... 19? No credit and work a job that makes so so money. 30k is a lot of $$$ brother. Even if you get a loan, the interest rate is going to kill you, along with insurance. I wouldn't be surprised if you are paying 600-700 a month just for the car.. Is that really worth it... having almost your whole pay check go to a car?

But if the OP only makes 20-25k (I don't know, just going off of what he mentioned in previous threads) a year, do you really think he would get approved for a loan for a 30k+ car?

MX52Z 04-02-2013 04:11 PM

Ouch, didn't know the OP was 19. That means an insurance payment almost as much as the car payment every month not to mention a very precarious financial position. One mistake like being late on a payment, getting a speeding ticket or losing a job could be disastrous.

This is not intended as a flame, and certainly cars.com is not the end-all-be-all in terms of pricing new cars...

But it looks like the car is over 30k at invoice cost, let alone delivery, etc., and that's for the very base model with no frills whatsoever.

Asking a dealer to come down 3k off of invoice isn't impossible, but it's ambitious.

And the used market is constantly a roll of the dice if you're selective in the least.

As DE said, though, you can shop around and get a loan from a bank before purchasing any car, private sale or not.

Good luck with the search!

Penfed and other credit unions, banks, etc. will cut you a blank check (usually limited to 25k) to pay for a private sale used car. It's all on the autoloan section of the respective websites.

If you're having this much trouble just buying the car then you should just stop. Gas, tires, insurance, etc. are all going to kill you. I'm assuming you work a wage job because I remember reading you make money teaching tennis or something. What happens if you get sick for a few weeks at a time where you can't work? Missing a payment isn't an option.

Buying the car is just the beginning. The cost of ownership is another 4 or 5k a year (depending on how much you drive) ONTOP of your monthly payment.

Ya, if thats truly the case then I don't think the Z is the best car for you based on your situation.

Sometimes we want what we can't have, no fault of the car, it just may not be in the cards. Of you'll have to do what some others will do to get in one, go older. Might have to consider 09's.

As mentioned above, I'm sure you can find one in well kept condition somewhere, but you'll have to break into that 09' territory. At 19 a '09 370Z is not a bad thing.

I think the OP is 22 with 13-15k down payment plus trade in.

http://www.the370z.com/nissan-370z-p...financing.html

If anybody makes that much/little (20-25k) they most definitely shouldn't be in a car that is starting at more than their income.

Not a bad plan

Few years ago I wanted a 350Z bad, it just wasn't in the cards, couple years later, lucked out even better getting a 370Z

You have to go for what you want most of the time but within reason...if u think u might put yourself in a bad spot, you probably will.

Good luck!

twinturbonet 04-02-2013 04:25 PM

Go to Capital One for your loan and search the US and find your car in another state like I did. Although, I wasn't looking for that price range (mine was a little higher), I ended up flying to NJ from FL and buying my Nismo there.

No, I'm just a motherfúcker when it comes to buying cars... Or almost anything, LOL

Merlinshawn 04-02-2013 04:33 PM

I waited a long time to find the right Z at the right price. I kept track of what lots had used ones and how long they had them. I ended up with a certified 2011 base with sport package with 27000 miles for $28000 with 0.5% interest. It had been on their lot for almost 5 months. Just be patient and look for ones that the dealer has had for a while, they are more likely to come down. Also don't contact them and let them know beforehand your really interested, then they think they can get more out of you.

gbrettin 04-02-2013 04:41 PM

The best deals i've ever seen have always been on this forum. You should really consider buying here as most of the people on here are enthusiast and take really good care of our rides. With that being said, you should also look at a 2009 - 2010 model if you are concerned about the price.

Heck, consider a 350z if you are 22 and strapped for cash and then trade up to a 2014. Better yet, save some more coin and get the next release of Z .

Just my two cents.

There will always be delicious cars available to you. But if you go big now and life just doesn't roll your way, you could spend a decade digging out of the hole. And those are very fine years to live up. :)

GL in the search, but definitely be ready to scale it back and still be happy with your place. You have many, many years ahead.

You deserve to be flamed... Am I'm going to tell you why...

Do you expect Tropicana to be the same price as Kool aid?

Do you expect Timberlands to cost as much as keds

Do you expect Polo to cost the same as Brut 33?

Diamonds for the cost of a CZ??? no way.

So why the hell you expect the Z to cost in the same range as a V6 camaro???

If I say anymore??? It will feel like 10,000 degrees in this thread.

the 0% incentive from Koeppel is pretty good. the way you're going about it is "A car is a car" when considering the two cars (Z and the Cam). The reality is, the Cam is a car but the Z is a Z. Not exactly apples to apples here.
Yes I'm a fan boy

asdfsammich 04-03-2013 01:59 AM

After all the counseling, financial advisement and general nannying provided to Minus he's already moving on from the Z before even buying it! Haha.

Well better make sure you buy what you really want rather than have remorse like buddyZ or jungleZ. Good luck to you!
