Differential 80w90 vs 75w90
I've noticed a lot of people on here use 75w90 in their differential but my owner's manual says to use 80w90. Any particular reason why? I was about to order some Red Line 75w90 when I noticed this.

I think it's on page 394... |
It changed 2011
I lied, no rhyme or reason... It doesn't matter what you go with, lol |

It's going to be warm in no time and that's where the 90 kicks in |

The type of oil and the additives will make much more difference in performance than a few viscosity points (especially since, as DE.50 points out, once they warm up, they have the same viscosity). YMMV |
I use 75 110 here

I autox my car more than the track, the one wheel burnout seems to break down the diff fluid quite quickly. I am doing it hoping the 110 can last longer

Doesn't 75w90 void your warranty? I wouldn't want any grief from a dealer when I bring in my own fluids...

The diff is so useless on the car anyways |

Same with all other lubes/fluids/tires/&c - if it meets Nissan's specs (for lubes, this is usually an API or other standards organization rating), they can't void the warranty. |
