Had a spirited run against a 370Z yesterday...

...in my 02 M3 with some Dinan mods. All I can say is wow. We were heading towards Houston, on a legit race track, and the inside lane on the back straight was pretty empty. We went from 70-Very Fast a few times(what is the speed limiter set at in the 370's?).

The first time I was in 6th, and the little booger pulled away. The next couple times I threw it down in 4th and barely, barely pulled away/closer. He looked to be stock, which is what impressed me the most.

Also, being a former TT owner, I'm very jealous that yall have Modshack...Can't wait to see what he pumps out for these cars. What do these guys have to look forward to Schwing?

Anyways, just wanted to share, and if the guy that was driving is on here, just wanted to say good run and nice car.

EDITED

Don't know how long this thread will last with the street racing, but glad to see the respect from a bimmer owner. Cheers mate.

Yeah, I just saw the fine print after I posted. Belated sorry in advance mods.

racing?
it was a comparison
with a hypothesis, experiment, & conclusion

but yeah, its a no-no

Yes, more of a scientific theory and subsequent test than anything :D

Maybe they'll be gracious enough to let it live now.

It happened on a "legit race track." I don't see the problem.

I LOVE the E46 M3's!!! Still want one actually. As noted ealier, good to hear a Bimmer owner giving respect to the Z!

Hey! No big plans, though I have done a few things for my car! (Thanks!)...

My last car was an 04 M3 with K&N intake and a Borla CB exhaust and I must say that the Z stock is just as quick if not faster. Very impressed with my 09 Z so far.

That's what it looked like to me. I'm running the Dinan Intake, Exhaust, and ECU Stage 3 setup in mine. It "seemed" like I was a bit faster, though we were never right next to each other so I'm sure it seemed like the Z was faster to him as well. Definantly a suprise nonetheless.

And I'm a car lover more than a BMW owner. If it is functional, fast and looks good, it usually gets my respect. Especially when it's that was from the factory.

Its so sad as a lot of M3 owners think that their poo dont smell - but its nice to see that there are a some real enthusiasts out there :) thanks for the update :)

What kind of power does your car put down bone stock? 333hp?
