Car would't start story, need your input!

Okay so here is my story:

Installed a pioneer bluetooth unit to go along with my pioneer headunit. After the install was completed my car would not start. I tried everything and checked all of my fuses twice. I decided to have the car towed to the dealer. When it got there before any of the technicians even looked at it they were like it's probably the steering lock failure, but with my car being a 2011 I figured it wasn't.

After looking at the car they said it was not the steering lock problem and they were unsure what it was. Then they said that since I had an aftermarket headunit that was most likely the problem, and they refused to do any work under warranty other than replacing the clutch switch which is what they said the problem was presenting as.

So the next day they replaced the switch and said the car still would not start, so I had to have a tow truck tow my car from the dealer back to my house. After the car was dropped off at my house I sat in it to think. I tried to start the car for the hell of it and it fired right up??? I have no idea what happened and now I am nervous because what if this happens again and I get stranded somewhere?? Has this happened to any of you guys? What do you think may have been the problem or still be the problem? Any input is much appreciated!

Can you provide a bit more info on what the car was and was not doubt when trying to start it.

Did the engine turn?
Did you have any dash lights or warnings?
Did you hear your steering lock engage when hitting the start button?
Anything else that you can recall would help narrow down the cause.

The engine would not crank at all.
No dash lights other than that red blinking light that is always there.
The steering lock is that whirring sound right? yeah I heard that.

It seemed like everything was working fine the car would just not crank. The car kept showing me that picture to put my foot on the clutch, so it was recognizing the key. I tried putting the key in the little keyslot and that did nothing. My battery was reading at 12V. I can't really think of anything else.

It just wanted to be run around town on a mobile pedestal a little bit before behaving....

/my fiance is the same way sometimes; put her on the pedestal for a bit, then I get to play with her yummy lady pieces.

Sometimes people think too complicated yet just forget the most obvious things...

Did you actually press down the clutch pedal instead just putting your foot on it?:icon17:

I had a couple times myself forgot to step on the brake and the car just wouldn't start!:shakes head::rofl2:

Call me crazy but it almost sounds like your battery was dead. I wonder if the dealership hooked it up to a trickle charger.

Is the battery reconnected? I mean... sometimes...you know.
