Took the Z On It's First Roadtrip
I figured I would post this as my Z is still pretty new to me. The wife and I took a trip up to North Jersey on the NJ Turnpike,280 and 80. About 305 miles roundtrip (from South Jersey).
1. This car is VERY comfortable. IMHO much more comfy than my Acura TL that I traded in fro this. The wife thought so as well. 2. People broke their necks looking at it and did not see another 370Z the entire trip. 3. Rolling with the A/C on power was always there. 4. According to trip computer - 25.1 MPG, 66.3 MPH 5. Oil Temp - Right around 200. 6. Very pleased that I bought this car! Last edited by TonyBPD; 07-21-2009 at 08:45 PM. |

I will definitely keep my eye out. The suspension is amazing. On the one part of 280 the roads have alot of curves with some decent hills. The wife yelled at me a few times. lol

I get about the same results as you got on your roadtrip. And hooray for another NJ member.

When you pass exit 100 on the GSP, you're 3.5 miles west from me. We get very similar highway mileage. But how come your "average" speed is above the speed limit? The last-gen TL needed a serious tire upgrade (Potenza Pole Position RE960AS). For some reason, Acura stuck either crappy Turanzas or crappy Michelin MXM4s on as OEMs. It took 4 years to finally get a decent tread, then we finally had the car handling the way it should have been. Then we traded it for a 4th gen TL (but installed better tires right away). Since the base and sport tires are both quick-wearing summer treads on the Z, it'll be interesting to see how you deal with this. (I'm planning to go down to All-Seasons like the F1 Eagle, on my base/touring, but on the sport rims your choices are more limited.) |

I live in Northern West Virginia, I travel to Charlotte NC about every other weekend. My 350z did great on the trip....im anxious to see how the first trip in the 370 will be. It's about 350 miles each way
I actually think the 350 was a bit more comfortable. Don't get me wrong the interior of the 370 is far better that of the 350z, but those knee pads that are on each side of the dash, well the edge of them doesn't have much padding and it digs into the side of my leg. Also the lower back support of the the seats are a little too curved for my taste. My back starts to ache after a while. Also a side note: I don't know if anybody mentioned this but one of my favorite parts of the 370z is actually the steering wheel. It has such a great feel and the grips are thicker than the 350's. |

I really like the stock 18's and would love to pick up another set. I'm sure they will drop in price after a while. I havent really searched but I assume the 350Z wheels fit the 370?

Let's see: skinny tires on steel rims, high profile rubber w/ aggressive tread. extra 4" of road clearance. LSD; engine detuned to about 122 horsepower. I think I've "discovered" a Versa / Cube! |
