Got milk?!
6 Attachment(s)
I just put my new license and registration on the vehicle last night walk out to my vehicle this morning and discover that the bastards stole my sport wheels and left my car on milk crates this morning!!!
Before: After: I usually park in a camera security patrolled area but that night i was dead tired and took what i can find not realizing that area was to isolated i got caught slipping and the milk bandits got me! I took a police report and come to find out this crew has been stealing radios and rims in my neighborhood and in the Ny metropolitan area for the past 3 months so New Yorkers beware, and they still have not caught the guys! I thank god i didnt catch them doing it because i know i would be going to jail for homicide! If you are on this forum thank you for stealing them between 0300 and 0400 at 0500 it would have been a massacre!:mad::mad: |

Also, I don't understand one thing. You created a thread (http://www.the370z.com/new-370z-owne...k-6m-370z.html) at 12:45PM CST today talking about your new car. About two hours later, you create this thread saying that this happened last night? I'm confused! |
this literally happened the day after u got it?!
|
Wow very sorry to see what happened :(
It's been awhile since someone on here has reported their sport wheels getting stolen. I know they were very popular with thief's a few years back But still a shame they have to do that. Keep an eye out in the Classifieds to see if they have the nerve to put them on sale. Hopefully the ins. will take care of the damages and put you back on the road quickly. I can only suggest gorilla locks or something similar to at least slow them down if they decide to strike again. |
Don't tell me NYC, if so you can't even own a POS and not have something happen to it in NYC, let alone a nice Z.
|
Sooooooo sorry to hear that! My sincere sympathies! I know hearing things like this breaks the hearts of all of us who love our Zs. Just the thought of someone tampering with our car, let alone stealing something off it drives us crazy. Hopefully they didn't damage anything else on the car. But boy, does that suck! Here you are, you work hard for something nice, finally get it, and some complete low life vandalizes it. There are no words for people like that. I hope things work out for you with your insurance co. Life, God, fate...whatever you believe in has a way of taking care of people like that. Best of luck in the future. You'll be back on the road soon!

But if this is indeed what happens I wish you the best of luck. |

What part of NY? I can try to keep a look out for weird cars with sport rims and I can also check the local craigslist for you too.
Sucks to hear...no wheel locks? I know they aren't fool proof, but at least a small deterrent. |
Man, that sucks. Seems like a lot of people are getting their Z rims stolen.
I saw a thread the other day of a guy get his nismo wheels taken :ugh: |

I knew a lot of ppl that would take trips to NYC in their cars or rentals and about 50% of them would have some type of theft or damage to the cars in NYC, almost the same in any major city , leave anything nice or of value and slowly the thieves arive to strip it bare.
You really need to keep it indoors or get rid of it, a lot more trouble is bound to happen if you leave it parked on the street at night. For the city you really need a cheap beater like Patrick Swayze had in Road House and keep the nice ride stored far away from the damage and thieves. |

If I remember correctly? Basically the outer casing spins so a crook would have to spend the time to break the casing before getting to the lug thus making it more troublesome, And crooks like things easy. http://www.the370z.com/wheels-tires/...kage-rays.html |
It looks like the towing company may have really screwed up the bottom of your car by dragging it up with no wheels on it. Make sure you have the dealer thouroughly inspect the bottom of the car for damage , floor, frame , brakes , suspension and have it added to the theft and damage claim.

What I know for a fact is that you're going to need the correct washer thickness to ensure the lock doesn't bottom end |

I would have just left the car their and found 3 more donuts to put on her instead of letting it drag on the ground. Also looks like your front driver side bumper is coming off? |
I got a viper alarm system w/ a tilt sensor for this very reason. When you arm the car it calibrates itself to set the alarm off if it detects any change in the level/tilt of the vehicle.

At least down south (where you and i have cousin who lives in NC) you can apply and receive a gun permit here in NYC you go any where near a gun you get 4 years in jail! I was thinking about getting a tilt sensor alarm 2 days before this happened but something told me not to because i know if that thing goes off i go off and that equals jail time for me which is sad when your just trying to protect something that costs $31,864.14. Got to formulate a plan to protect my property with out having to ruin someone.:shakes head: |
The problem with wheel locks is this Sunex 2840 Sunex Sockets
Most wheel thieves carry one with them, your locks will only slow them down a few minutes, I have seen one guy on you tube that put a tow chain and lock thru all 4 mag wheels every night. I hate to say it but living where you do , your really better getting something that they will leave alone and something you really don't have to worry about getting stolen or damaged while being parked or simply driving in NYC traffic. On a trip to NYC in my beat up old nissan frontier pickup , I can remember being hit or pushed to the side by a lot taxi cabs in the city, at least 5 times in 3 days, so I can't imagine driving something nice and brand new in that city, in a short tme any decent car will turn to a POS there. Just look at whats parked on the street, slowly your car will turn into one of these. Your really better off with something like a stripped down automatic versa or a used sentra etc, for NYC. The other factor is that this will definitly effect your insurance, watch them drop you during the 6 month period, unless you move the car or get something else, right now you are a hi risk for them. |

Arrrg, heartbreaking stuff man. So sorry to see that happen but its nice to see you're in good spirits.
Like many of you, it wouldn't be a pretty sight if I was able to catch 1 or 2 guys in the act. I know many feel its just metal etc etc but its the principle, the violation and the fact that I work hard for my stuff. Sounds like your insurance will be taking care of you properly |

I just had a genius idea. But it will never happen. But it's still cool to think about. So someone develops a super sticky adhesive that goes on car wheels and you can turn the adhesive on or off with your car alarm. So when it's on, if someone sticks their hands on your rims, they are stuck! If the rip their hands off then their skin stays on the rim and you have their DNA! Let's get some funding for this and make it happen!
