Zero problems with my Z I love it and I drive it hard. The tranny is super smooth and I think that has a lot to do with proper driving and it still puts a smile on my face every time I jump in.
Proper is subjective...
It's a sports car, I'm not babying it.
If I want to turn the VDC off and burn some tires, the car should be able to take that...
I beat my ISF and 370 equally. The ISF has only killed a $1400 set of brakes and rotors, that's it

The 370 needs an oil cooler, the transmission is dying, the car has problems starting and staying on, and 10 other things, LOL

I'm not going to sit here and tell you that every time I take the Z out I'm drifting and pulling to redline at every stop light but when I do drive it I drive it hard. I have done my share of burnouts and donuts (wasted my stock tires in 16k). I have taken it to the drag strip a few times and done my share of what this forum does not condone LOL. And no problems knock on wood.

LOL, I think 99% of us have... I'm glad you have reliability and no issues... I just must have the second worst luck in cars... (Ryan, forgot his forum name)

But there still are a list of problems that should have been addressed by Nissan sooner than they have... And the way they are handling, or not handling my current problems pisses me off

I've owned 3 Nissans in the last 11 years and of the three major Japanese brands, Nissan definately ranks third for QA, especially with interior fit and finish. I've had my share of issues as well, but am lucky to have a good dealer that promptly addresses all my concerns. Why do I keep going back to Nissan? I'm not a German car fan (except a select few which are well over what I would ever spend on a car) and because Nissan is really the only Japanese brand that produces anything that excites me. Outside of the IS-F, Toyota and Honda have nothing in production that really excites me.

Everyone is different though. After my second Nissan, I said I was getting something else. I looked high and low. Both at sports cars and sport sedans and my choices were actually pretty broad. It came down to the IS-F, Z, Mustang, or G37S coupe. Obviously here I am again with my 3rd Nissan. It wasn't due to brand loyalty, the way the Z drove just felt better to me than the Mustang, despite having more hp. The IS-F, while a great car, just didn't give me the excitement factor the Z did. Plus the back seat is a joke. If Lexus had an IS-F coupe with a 6MT or dual clutch, things might be different though. I love Lexus, almost everyone in my family drives one, and now that I have the Z, I would like to get a GS350 F-Sport as my daily.

At the end of the day, your experience with a particular brand dictates whether or not you'll buy another. Just like you despise Nissan, I will never own another GM vehicle. Their dealer experience was miserable and their products garbage. I don't care how much people say they've improved- I'm not willing to risk being a GM owner again....at least not for another 10-15 years to see how these "improved" GM products hold up.

Things have not been perfect for me, but I read so I knew what was coming.

Crazy though. The dealer has taken care of me very well. All on warranty dime, rentals etc. I've been very pleased.

New engine (oil consumption)
New SL
Coolant leak (slow/vapor leak)

DEpointfive0, bro!! How do we know you're not waking up and sleep wrenching your car at night and don't even know it! Like your other personality just trying to pile up issues so you can complete your mission of bringing down the dealershits!! Kidding man, sucks to hear, but you mighta got a lemon.

Are you by any chance referring to Gerald Nissan in Naperville, IL.? That is my dealership as well. I have had nothing but really good experiences with them.

When you set a price limit of $40,000 and test drive everything under the sun in that range. And key words coming up... Priority #1 is performance for the dollar. Nissan wins with the Z. Maybe other cars are more track ready, but this is the nicest, with the best seating position, suspension etc...

Ummmmmmm... I think performance for dollar is awarded to the 5.0 TBH...
Take everything into account, yeah ok, the Z...

But I bought my 2008 ISF with 5,000 miles (the car had 4 oil changes, LOL) ON EBAY, LOL, in July 2011 for $40,600. No taxes paid either but I had to pay license when I took it to TX...

I think the fact that we have options under 40k is awesome.

Oooh, oops. Yeah that ******* leak was fixed twice and somehow I still manage to get my coolant down under the minimum level.
