No regrets. Sometimes I think about what I should've done with my money instead of buying the Z, then I go for a drive and quickly forget.

The term you're looking for is lease. Not financing.

Lease = you return the car after X years
Finance = you pay to eventually own the car.

If you like to switch cars, stick with leasing. But I'm sure you already knew that.

Completely different situations... that guy likes having no payments. He did not suggest financing to you because it doesn't make sense for you. Why would you ask this question when he didn't suggest you finance?

He was simply stating what you are obviously thinking, but instead you keep asking questions like a troll If you want car payments for years on end, great; enjoy your new cars I personally hate to lease cars and would rather buy used, but I understand why a lease makes sense for some people (my wife's Acura is a lease). To each their own

Ended up getting rid of mine for a couple of reasons.

The first was reliability. ECU whining. Engine oil burning. VVEL control errors post-engine swap. Just didn't inspire much confidence.

The second was service. It was a constant battle to get a dealer (went to several) to acknowledge a problem. I understand this is usually the case everywhere, but it put a pretty sour taste in my mouth.

The third is Nissan corporate in general and the way they've handled (or not handled) this steering lock problem. The GTR gets a recall. Every other vehicle with the same part gets the cold shoulder.

It's not that they don't know a problem exists. They removed the lock from current models completely, yet they still charge people an arm and a leg for a "fix" rather than just owning up to the issue and issuing a recall to pull a stupid fuse.

I just can't support behavior like that. :/

sometimes we just want a change
with my Z, I have had no major problems.
biggest complaint is the paint, and I need to do something about that....
I also have the habit of lightly hitting curbs....

None at all! Still loving it and I do drive mine every day. Have put 16k miles on it in less than 10 months. The steering lock issue was a blimp on the radar but it's all gravy now! My one hour drive into work m-f is not your ordinary commute.

Just want to clarify -- I am not trying to jump all over you for your decision. If you know you will switch to a new car every 3 years, I think leasing is your best option. It is not the best option for me.

It is YOUR money, spend it how you want to.

Certainly the Z is not a "Practical" car purchase by any stretch. I had to convince myself to make this purchase (which I am glad I did -- the extra cost of car ownership for the Z is worth it for the driving pleasure it gives me).

We all have to make choices on how to spend our money.

Well put Speed! But, Practical, Schmactical! If it's got 4 wheels, any car can be as practical as it's owner that uses it. I'll be stopping for groceries in my Z after work! Not only do I bring home the milk and bread, I also get my exercise because I park about a "mile" away from the entrance. Can't be too carefully with roaming carriages and careless people.

And at the moment I'm having that dealer problem too vs back in Houston I could make up a problem and they'd ACTUALLY diagnose it, they even fixed problems that I didn't even know about!

And about the steering lock. It shows how shítty a company is to let that slide, BUT they did FINALLY recall it even though their solution is still a crappy one

I like to think I'm not an ásshole, so I like to help out
I really enjoy the forum and 99% of it's members, so I like to help out
I really enjoy helping people fix their car problems because I like working on cars
And I really, REALLY enjoy making corporate, of any company lose just a bit more money.

I LOVED the car for the first 6 months... But for the past 7-8, I've HATED it...


And I have dealt with............ 15-20 Nissan dealershits in 2 years, called corporate 30+ times, I've helped people reclaim THOUSANDS of dollars from Corporate.

I've been around the Nissan block enough for a few lifetimes. So I KNOW the way they operate, I KNOW the way dealers can operate, and I make it KNOWN that if they play games, I fúck them back...
