Fxxking tailgaters!

Last night, went on the Hwy ramp (50km/h ramp). I went in at 50km/h exact (raining and most important a car was in front of me). I looked at my rear mirror and saw an axxhole "without any lights on" tailing gating me. I was thinking, I hope a cop would come pull him over for tail gating and without lights on. But guess what?

It's a cop without light on and was tail gating me!!!

Serve and protect my a@@.

He was probably waiting for you to accelerate aggressively onto the highway.

You should've brake checked him.

I see it my rear view mirror sometimes,******** like to ride your bumper. I feel like slamming my brakes on to teach them a lesson, people like that are the ones that cause chain reaction crashes on the freeway. but that's the problem driving in public some are safe and some are ********.

GMZ 07-18-2009 11:13 AM

I immediately coast down to 5 below the limit when they do that, **** em

mrarroyo 07-18-2009 12:06 PM

Most of the time I slam on my brakes! Although lately I just slow down a bit, less confrontational. ;)

FricFrac 07-18-2009 12:12 PM

...so let me see if I've got this right. You have some idiot that is driving beyond his capability (eg too close to stop) so you make a situation where he is likely to crash into your vehicle (brake checking)? I'd say the guy who hit his brakes without cause knowing the guy behind him is following too close was the guy who caused the chain reaction....

frost 07-18-2009 02:44 PM

I would brake check if it were a car I didn't like and was hoping to get totaled, but the Z? No way jose.

Me too, and I'm not even kidding. The cinnamon buns this morning were kickass, God knows I took them up on that to-go tray option.

My other car has rear fog lights. VERY effective at scaring tailgaters, with less likelihood of causing an incident.

That's exactly what I was thinking...yet another use for my functional rear fog light. :)

Yeah, ramp speeds are amusing, at least here in the US. There is a ramp here in Augusta that is "rated" 30mph coming off of I-520 (not really a speed limit per se I don't think), I routinely take it at about 80 with ease. Makes you wonder exactly how they came about with a 30mph calculation..

60 years ago when cars could only do 30mph.

and besides the government needs areas like that so that people will speed knowing that the speed limit is off and get tickets. they gotta make money some how right?

Reminds me of the time I was down in WA driving on the I5. Cop pulls up beside me and for several hundred feet in the pitch black night shines his #$&@ search light IN MY FACE while I'm doing 60 MPH on the highway. WTF is up with that? I just held the wheel straight and hoped for the best.

Semi's, dump trucks, and people who can't handle a car....

And perhaps engineering limitations for the roadway/structure...
