Can a Dealer ship a car to a close Dealership?

Im wondering, I have finally have enough steady income to get a car anytime i want. But the cars that im looking at are really far away and wouldnt see myself going to pick it up myself. Do dealerships send one car to another so that I may go do the paperwork at the dealship? I mean i called a dealership before and they said that they would fedex the paperwork to me and that i would need to fed ex it back. But in terms of paperwork and money I really wouldnt want to do it while being 1k miles away.

Anyone have experience in this aspect of having the car sent to a closer dealership and you buying it there, im sure that there is a fee to pay in terms of shipping but id rather have it shipped to a dealer than to my house, although i guess which ever is cheaper would be the better option but now that i think about it i would really like to do paperwork here unless someone else can tell me what kind of paper work is involved and if they did it throuigh fed ex or any other methods than in person.

and also can you do the whole car buying process online? Over the phone?

First time car buying obviously... haha

Gonnna sell my benz for about 7-8g then 3-4 g's of my own money and pay the rest off.

You could have the car shipped to you via truck for about $600, but that would mean buying it sight unseen, which is very dangerous. If youre not in a rush, start watching all the typical car buying sites, visiting dealers, get a very specific idea of what you want, and have them watch for you. I spent 3 months looking for a very specific car in a specific price range and still had to drive almost 3 hours to get it, but for me it was worth it.

If you are buying new, a good dealer will have no problem obtaining the car you want from another location. They typically drive them though. If you are buying pre-owned, I would suggest you make the drive to that particular dealership or just be patient until something pops up locally. I searched for about 3 months before my car popped up at a local dealership.

sigh im not in a hurry but now that i have cash in hand its like ugh.
im calling cali/tx/tn from jersey....dont wanna spend 3 days to go there and them be like
omg u have no credit history of any sort so were gonna rape you on interest.
but ill guess ill wait locally.

The best car prices you will get is a dealer that doesn't not need to do a locate for the car. Which year z are you looking for and options? I drove to pa to get my z. The same car where if I bought it at Ramsey for 37k since they had to buy it from the dealership in pa. I went to pa and bought it for 34k for the same car. Other things to try is getting car quotes from 2-3 dealerships and go back and forth till you have a good sold price. Also shopping towards the end of the month like the last week you will get great price since dealerships are trying to make quota and employees want there bonus.

Ok lets step back.
Buying a car with little credit history is ok. Do not go to the dealership without being pre-approved for a loan from your bank first. This way you have options on loan rates & options. Second, waiting is tough but find the exact car you want down to every option. This way you do not buy something & regret it later. Like not getting sport package, touring or something else.

I called a dealership in TN they had a 2012 GM with 4600 miles on it for like 27
i want that bad. real bad. if i go the bank for a loan of like 15k with no credit history i feel like they would laugh at my face...

If both dealerships agree to the trade/sale to the one you're wanting it to go to, sure. However, from across the country it's at least an additional $1200 for shipping (trucked, not driven). Nearby is usually $750.

This is what I was told when I was looking to get mine.

I found some one in Cali and one in Vegas - so I just flew to Vegas to get it rather than spending an additional $750 when no dealership in Phoenix could even find it in Vegas (or was willing to deal ANYTHING).

I walked into my dealership without being pre-approved for a loan.

I was approved for the 0% 60 months thing Nissan was offering on the spot

I researched this car for two years.

When I was ready to buy one, it took me another 4 months (mainly due to a refinance on my house, but also because no one could find the exact one I wanted).

Take your time, get what you want. Do NOT settle!
