Default Worth the wait for navigation.

Hi, I am considering purchasing the 370z, but where I live (Toronto) there is only one Z with manual and sport package, I had originally planed on getting one fully loaded. But the wait time for one is over 6 weeks, some dealers are telling me it would be even longer.

I was just wondering if the navigation was worth the extra time of not owning the car.

I would not mind putting in a "carputer" something with gave me telemetry and engine readings and stuff.

Thanks.

I would rather spend the money on a complete aftermarket audio/nav system. In fact...that's exactly what I did.

Check this thread out (not mine, but giving props):

http://www.the370z.com/audio-video/5...am-ak370z.html

It looks awesome from the pictures and is likely what I would do if I had a 370Z and knew the unit will accept my personal media HD (250GB) and all 12,000 songs through the USB.

I prefer my garmin over most factory navs. The iPod interface would be nice to have. I can't see any easy way to change out the radio. The faceplate is combned with the HVAC. My $0.02

I got the nav, looks great, has a couple extra bonuses like the fuel gauge, and I use it all the time.

Courtesy Parts now sells replacement faceplates that will fit Double DIN units (this is especially helpful for anyone with the Touring package which doesn't have DIN cutouts). It's pretty cheap too, under $100 if I recall.

i'd say wait for the nav. the kenwood system seems nice, but it's so low in the center console. it'd be perfect if a system fits in the empty compartment where nissan nav sits.

I bought the aftermarket since I didn't want to spend the money on the touring+Navi. If you're already going touring, might as well get the Navi

Cool

Factory Nav, no other option will match it. Will also help with resale value when the time comes to part with it... OEM always...

It is a decision that is up to you really. Do you want a nav system so bad that you will wait or is the car that you really want at the dealership now? Get what you and only you will settle for. You'll be glad you did.. For me, the nav system was not something I wanted, nor needed so I got everything else but.

So Touring w/ Navi is about 6500 more than without. If you don't care about the leather and power seats then you're paying 6500 for Nav. Is it worth it to you?
