Remote start

I picked up a brochure while in Japan and noticed there was a remote start option. Do we have the same in the US?

No, but I tell you, for $700-800 I'd do it

How can you use a remote start with a stick?

You have checks for it to start:
-Car must be in neutral
-Hood must be closed
-And I believe there is a third one, possibly e-brake on but not sure.

For the OP, this was brought up in 09. A guy tried/looked into it, the issue was those keys are programmed for the Japan ECUs and would not link up with the US ones.

True but there's something about it being OEM that I like. Regardless, I wouldn't do it because I'm so used to keeping my car in gear while its off.

I wasn't being serious. I hope you weren't either. I certainly hope no one would leave a manual parked in neutral.

It's called a clutch canceler or something like that. Not sure how it works.

Yes I know that. I was referring to the fact that they get more options that I know people over here would love to take advantage of.

Same for me, I leave it in gear generally if I'm on level ground. I had a viper alarm installed and I debated getting remote start but decided against it. I like being in the car when the engine turns over anyways

On a level surface with the e-brake engaged, absolutely nothing. Having said that, I both engage the e-brake and leave the car in gear regardless of parking conditions.
