I did a short test drive tonight. The airbag was OFF the entire time. It didn't go off accelerating, braking or turning. There is more than enough space between the dash and the rear facing car seat. The seatbelt held tight and there is a lock on it to lock it in its place. Of course this was done with an infant seat, I have to see how it will do with the convertible seat as I think they are longer and taller.
I should also mention the steep pitch on the seat will require some leveling to get the seat to work properly. The infant seat sits properly on the flat part of the passenger seat. As I said, this is not recommended, but it seems to work okay in a pinch. |
