Lol! yeah, a car is just an object that depreciates with time and a liability that increases with time. if you think about it, installing performance parts on a car is a pretty bad investment you can make financially, but hey, we do it anyway, why not take care of it so it lasts a long time and gives us many more hours of joy! I just think of my car more than just an appliance. my 2 cents.

:iagree: if your not going to care for your car....take the bus:icon23:
All your going to do driving when u don't give 2 hoots is hit my car doors when u park beside me:barf:

Not really

I let one other guy with an M3 drive it cause he wanted to try it and I know he's a car guy. And I let my other friend drive it while I picked up my Subaru (winter beater) was cool to watch my Z in motion.

I'm one of those 'Z is an extension of me' kinda guys not a 'Z is a cooler point A to point B mode of transportation' guys. I spend a lot of money on it, so clearly I care and give a $hit

Also a lot of people aren't used to driving a car this low, especially at the height it is now...so again, maybe car folk

Wife wants to drive it...she hasn't driven stick in years...so deal is she practices on my manual Subaru Forester first....

I only let a select few people drive it...people who have experience with cars and driving a manual of course. lol

Guess you don't give a $hit about your Z's resale value either.

resale? whats that. i will end up destroying this car, and having a great time doing it. im not one to put a piece of plastic and metal on a pedestal. i work hard, i earn my money, and i intend to spend it the way i want. and what i want to do is buy a fun car, and drive it like its meant to be driven, with zero regrets. plain and simple.

This sounds like some people I know that don't have two cents to show for themselves when they get to my age (63) after a life of not caring about anything then *itch and moan about it constantly.

I can agree with working hard and enjoying what u buy with it. But i can't understand your attitude for not caring about what u bought...... Don't u want it to at least last long enough for your hard earned money to appreciate it:tiphat:

right, it's just a car, why clean the house when it will get dirty again, why make the bed when you are going to use it again tonight, etc .... we are all different and we all feel different about how we keep our cars, our house, our clothes, etc ... again thankfully we all have the right to choose how we live

I have let my sis drive my car; she always loved taking my 280 out when we were younger. She fell in love with my 370. I have offered to let a few friends drive it, but no takers so I quit offering.
In the end It is just a car. Don't get me wrong I take care of my baby the best I can, but I will not let it consume my life and become something I am overly concerned over. I will teach both my daughters to drive standard in it, they love it.
It is meant to be enjoyed and when my sister dropped it from 5th to 3rd and the tires broke free for a bit and we were moving, she was grinning like a high school kid again. It made me smile and to me that is enjoyment.

i do care, but to me this is just a toy, its no where near the performance of my other toy, so im not worried. im very "spirited" with my vehicles as ive seen you guys describe it, but i also maintain them accordingly.

everybody has their vices. i dont drink, dont smoke, no kids, almost everything i own is paid off, so why not live a little.

ill settle down when i start getting old, luckly 40 is still a long way off. so i have some time. lol
