I think we can agree that you don't want test pipes and AAM short tails. :icon14: |

most HP gains are with either test pipes/headers or long tube headers. to get to my sound you need to be ok with being very loud and having in cabin drone. there's ways to dial it down with resonators and some dynamat in the car/trunk area. personally I enjoy it as loud and just nonsense volume that it is lol. to solve your problem with not wanting test pipes your best bet would be to either start with AAM short tails and see if that gets you anywhere where you want to be. although that'll be loud may not be the volume you want exactly. kinda hard to pull off since not many CBE's come with a no muffler option nor do many short tails match up to anything but the stock exhaust. soooo you're in a tough spot if you want big volume and stock cats. |

Either way, as long as you buy something quality made - you will be happy. |

I was happy to get a message this morning from a local guy who showed up to cars and coffee after I had left Saturday. he told me all the big exotic's guys were there talking about how awesome my exhaust was. plus how great and unexpected the sound is from that car. it was nice to hear even the guys with aventadors and P1's enjoy the nonsense lol |

my original non res TP and non res CF CBE from FI. it was really loud. just swap out the TPs for HFC you still may be close to the desired volume. |

We had a local meet and Angel showed up to get some ideas on how certain exhaust setups sound. We had one with the Shockwave and ART pipes from Motordyne. I had the F.I. CBE on stock cats. Someone had the Grip with test pipes, Grip with stock cats, and the loudest of all was AAM Short Tails and test pipes. Everything sounded great - not a lot of rasp - just some were wayy louder than others. |

Best exhaust for performance
So I'm a new 370 owner and I'm looking at a bunch of different exhaust systems and I just can't find what I'm looking for. As far as noise I don't really care but I want sosmhing that's going to give me good power Bain's! I have my eyes set on a Ark grip or stolen bu what other exhaust offer good power gains? I'm also super new to this so sorry if I did the "wrong thread" thing. Thanks guys!

I have a '12, Berk High Flow Cats, I did have a non-resonated x-pipe, but traded with an amazing team member for his 12" resonated FI x-pipe, it changed the car for me. I dreaded driving it before, it was just way too loud, I'm in love with the car now, it sounds like a Lamborghini. The 12" resonator removed a lot of the drone in the inside of the car, and left most of the sound outside the car (but you still hear it believe me).
I've read through a few reviews on the increases in HP and Torque, I know the system I have makes an appreciable difference, I believe it's about a 15 HP difference. 370Z "TDX" Cat Back Exhaust System, Fast Intentions They ran some Dyno runs on the exhaust towards the bottom. Regardless it makes my car sound amazing. |
Even after all this time I still think that Fast Intentions is the best and only choice for the Z. There's every option you ever could want or need in their lineup plus customer service that can't be matched.

I've heard plenty, and Motordyne e370 is by far my favorite. A bit pricey, but well worth it. IMO.

there's no "one sounds the best" on the market, but there should be "one you like the sound the best". choose wisely.... :icon17: |
Motordyne Shockwave...the perfect blend. Deep, no drone, quite when you baby it...loud and strong when you want it to be (mid throttle to full WOT).
|
I have the Invidia Gemini Titanium and it is raspy yet quiet until it wakes up like a screaming italian monster. I've got it paired with the Stillen Gen 3 cold intakes up front. great combo. real head turner.
