FI is going to be the overwhelming response. Proven numbers and a solid build. although somewhat of a wait and a little more than some others. But you get what you pay for.

Thanks, it seems like they have a few models, do you recommend a particular one which you can share a link to?

This is the one I see they presently have:

That is the F.I. exhaust. Your options come from customizing it - resonated or non, carbon fiber or stainless cans. I have the 18" resonated one paired up to stock cats - sounds amazing.

The best exhaust for me would be a Motordyne E370. Heard it in person one time. Want it!

Edit: I've posted this before but it's worth posting again to show why I am so in love with it. Sounds exactly the same as I remembered when I heard it in person

Any benefit to getting the bigger 18'' ones or sound/performance is the same?

Says it right on the F.I. product page:

•The X Pipe has 3 options. Non Resonated, 12" Resonators or 18" Resonators. The resonators are strictly noise canceling devices. They DO NOT hinder performance at all. They are primarily designed to cut down interior noise resonance AKA "Drone"! The longer the resonator, the quieter the interior noise.

Borla, it's one of the only true dual exhausts for the 370Z, utilizes an H pipe, it's affordable, nets respectable hp/tq gains, has a 1,000,000 mile warranty and they've been in the exhaust game for decades unlike most of the other choices.

I get a lot of compliments on my Ark Grip V2 as far as looks and sound. Putting it on was a real PIA though. Fitment does not seem perfect IMHO. I say FI is the way to go. I plan on switching over to FI later down the road.

I also thought the Grip and the F.I. sounded best from the youtube videos I've watched. I was set on getting the Grip since I didn't want to wait for the F.I. but I lucked out and found a used one.

So question about the specs here:
Fast Intentions

Does 20 RWH convert plainly to hp? I see some places removing 15% to 20% of the RWH in final addition to HP.

Wondering if 20 * .85 + 332 = Final HP?

AngelNismo 05-02-2015 04:18 PM

also what do you do w old exhaust, chuck it or keep it?

There are a lot of calculators just google rwhp calculator or something like that.

Drivetrain loss for manual and auto is usually different.

You can try to sell it but it might be a hassle. Someone reverting back to stock is usually who would buy but it's a hard sell.

Zerocool 05-02-2015 10:24 PM

motordyne sounds the best. Give it such an amazing sound

Zerocool 05-02-2015 10:25 PM

If it's out your budget then fast intentions 12" resonated with their high flow cats.

Wouldn't their TDX system be better?
Fast Intentions

Fast Intensions.......as good as any stated and arguably better. Which one do I have? Fast Intensions of course so no bias here!

Does anybody have any opinions on the armytrix? Seems to be really top shelf:
Nissan 370Z Nismo - ARï¼*YTRIX Performance exhaust mufflers & Cat-back system for Lamborghini, Ferrari, Audi, BMW, Mclaren, GT-R, 370Z, A45, CLA45, AMG, Volkswagen and Porsche

LOL I'm about to just stay with stock, my friends say that it sounds fine and anything more might be obnoxious :rofl2:

Uxi 05-04-2015 12:04 PM

I've been drooling over the Amuse STTI Gold Ring but can't say I'm dissatisfied with the HKS Nismo exhaust.

all their CBE systems are TDX.

add on test pipes or a HFC variation to give you more power and sound.

FI exhausts are in my opinion the best for the Z. sound, performance, and customer service you wont get anywhere else.

Z stock exhaust is like a church mouse and does not sound good lol you're friends are lying to you or aren't car guys.

first thing I did a week after buying my Z was a call to Tony at FI and ordered my exhaust.

i put a straight pipe, no res and it sounds stock. you just get more crackle and louder. you also feel the torque better. The aftermarket exhausts kinda lessen the low RPM torque feel, while the straight mid increases it a lil bit.

SMH Worst advice I've seen on this forum.. Straight Pipe= NO Muffler or Res which in case would sound loud AF and would definitely feel power loss No Res on the other hand would be nasty and raspy in which case again bad advice :wtf2:

My 2 cents is get a damn exhaust or Axleback

I'm debating over FI TDX Cat Back vs the Motordyne Shockwave, the armytrix looks crazy as well.

I put a straight midpipe, no res, but i have my muffler and cats... You should ask instead of assume. i didnt say im driving around without an exhaust. One of the most popular mods used to be the AAM straight pipe, no res muffler. And the forum was loving it. My set up is less aggressive than the AAM mod

I didnt say a straight exhaust. I said, straight pipe, which people usually understand as a straight pipe that replaces the res. Hence straight-pipe, no res. I never said muffler delete. If you read the following sentence after your highlight i did say straight mid.
