Show or Go?

Just interested in what's more important 2 u guys. Good looks and fancy body kits or go fast parts? Personally looks are at the bottom of my list. The 370z is already sexy hell I'm trying 2 make it fast as hell. I'm perfectly fine with the car looking stock with 600hp.

FricFrac 07-17-2009 02:36 AM

Performance.... however where are you going to use more than 332HP? Are you tracking your car? 600HP on the street is a waste - that's a bigger peni$ extension that a Firebird with the golden eagle on the hood....

molamann 07-17-2009 02:38 AM

Can I do both? Wheels and overlays for looks and some bolt-ons with best cost-to-performance ratio(hfc, cai, etc)

edeeZee 07-17-2009 02:42 AM

I'll go with "go" because like you said, the 370 is sexy from the start. It's just as sexy as a FD3S. FD's looked good w/ or w/o spoiler, base or R1 model regardless. 370 is likewise. And this is all stock. The 370 could benefit from a slight lowering job, but what car wouldn't?

I'd like to be 500hp sleeper with a GTM TT-kit, but I'd paint the intercooler flat black so that no one knows it's turbo...well, until I blow their doors off.

MightyBobo 07-17-2009 05:36 AM

I'm definitely all go, but I will never knock someone for having a nice set of off-the-track wheels that look nice.

Shunya 07-17-2009 05:44 AM

normally I'd go for "go" before "show".
but since it's gunna be a 1st hand car I'm getting.
I'm gunna go with "show" 1st this time. why?
I wanna get used to the car's original performances 1st.
Even tho the car is already sexy as is, I want it extra sexier :)
than I'll go with bolt-ons, wait and see what the market's got on TT's than Show&GO!

SiXK 07-17-2009 01:19 PM

you can go fast some of the time but you can look good all the time.

but honestly, I want both. last thing I want is a ugly fast car or a beautiful slow car.

never been a fan of body kits though.

kannibul 07-17-2009 01:28 PM

The only things I'm doing (in order)

Window Tint - because sunlight is bright, and it'll keep the interior "better"
Exhaust because it'll have a sound to match the performance
Intake just because of doing the exhaust - might as well help the front end too...

Snow plow - just to get the WTF look out of people.
Trailer hitch - so I can pull a bass boat
Roof Rack - so I have a place to put my camping gear

Of course, 3 of those are for laughs...

zZSportZz 07-17-2009 01:37 PM

I will say for me, its show before go....BUT exhaust mods I consider show because I like the sound more than actually caring about the performance increase since I don't track the car. With that said though, I still try to add things that sound good that give the best performance increase so its "go" and well as "show"

Now I'm confused lol.

Scott@FontanaNissan 07-17-2009 01:43 PM

Functional has always been my main concern...I'm not a big bodykit fan...but if its actually functional I am open to the idea for my car. You just have to set your goals for the car and do what YOU want and whats important to YOU!

m4a1mustang 07-17-2009 01:46 PM

GO! I think Nissan did a really good job with the styling so any "show" mods I do will be very subtle.

xiven 07-17-2009 02:01 PM

yeah...i'd like to see that snow plow :icon18:

m4a1mustang 07-17-2009 02:02 PM

I actually have a roof rack... see avatar.

Junior370z 07-17-2009 06:23 PM

I'm for "go"! Maybe once I'm finished installing a S/C for it I'll start on the looks.

Balzdeep 07-17-2009 06:25 PM

Don't phuc with a good thing. Nissan spent mega money on this car. Stock look with lots' of go is the plan.

TacoZ 07-17-2009 06:47 PM

No body kits for me. I love the way it looks stock.

I also agree with FricFrac. I would never use more than 332HP on the road. If I get a twin turbo, it'll just tempt me into stupid illegal "confrontations." The only performance parts I'll get into are exhaust, intake, and header.

Doesn't mean that I don't like variety on other cars. I wouldn't do it to mine but I love seeing everyone else being different.

Island_370 07-17-2009 06:55 PM

All my mods will be for performance. I think Nissan did a great job with the styling.

:iagree:

If I wanted show, I would have bought a yellow one. :nutswinger: There's a reason the yellow ones end up on magazine covers.

I see track days in my future, so I'm looking to better brakes than the sport package has, 18" forged track wheels, oil cooler, diff cooler (or a Quaife), and the usual intake, HFC, and CBE exhaust mods. No FI for me. I've been down that route with various Audi's and right now I'm having too much fun with N/A responsiveness.

GMZ 07-17-2009 09:47 PM

I like to go for a balanced approach. Some "show" items can be beneficial to "go" like lighter wheels, bigger brakes (gotta stop after you go ya know), and suspension (aka drop) for handling better thus going faster in the turns. Gotta start off with I/E though!

370Zilla 07-18-2009 08:36 AM

Both for me. I/E/Tune (unless stillen gets off their duffs and releases the SC), suspension, tint, a little ICE, and maybe some wheels. (really like the sport stockers)

FuszNissan 07-18-2009 08:39 AM

Both, but a clean show
