Default Most Stupid Thing Heard From a Nissan Dealer

While shopping around for my Z, I heard numerous stupid things said from salesman at Nissan dealers who you would think knew something about the Z. So I thought it would be fun start a thread to hear what other members heard that were idiotic statements made at a Nissan dealership. One of my favorites was when I was negotiating a deal for my CY 370Z. The 2 salesman I was sitting down with both asked me if I knew what was the name of the yellow. They said no one at the dealership knew but guessed it might be Canary or Lemon. I knew that it was Chicane Yellow. They were all so amazed I knew it. I'm amazed that nobody THERE knew it! Care to add your favorite?

We have a gorgeous 2008 370Z here, come check it out!

I made them go look for it, and tell me what options it had, hoping they'd figure it out that it wasn't a 370Z... They still said it was...

Me: Is this with or without the sport package?
Him: It isn't
Me: But it has the sport package wheels.
Him: All of them have the same wheels.
Me: (getting into the car) It also has SRM...
Him: Let me go ask my manager
Me: Can you also ask him to get me a new sales person.
Him: .........
Me: Thanks.

Had this at one dealership too (Coulter Nissan).

More:

(Coulter Nissan at a Stadium sale):
Me: "I'm here to check out the 2013 Z 6MT Base + Sport."
Dealer: "Those aren't even out yet."
Me: "Really? You have a Magma Red AT Base + Sport sitting just outside the stadium..."

Similar thing happened at Peoria Nissan.

Avondale Nissan:

Me: "I'm here to check out the 2013 Z 6MT Base + Sport in Midnight Blue."
Dealer: "We can order one, but you must agree to the price up front."
Me: "Is it possible to see a picture of it?"
Dealer: "No."
Me: "So you want me to agree to something I can't even see a picture of. May I ask you to call them, request a picture taken, and then email said picture to you right now?"
Dealer: "We can't do that."
Me: "Okay, what dealership are you getting said Z from, so I may go look at it. I'd like to not have to order one [proceeded to explain to him the ordering process and how long it would take over the holidays (thanks to this site and a knowledgeable dealership in Scottsdale, but they wouldn't play ball w/the pricing) and how I had to wait this long due to a refi. on my house]."
Dealer: "Well, you should have placed an order soon then [in a dickish tone]."
I walked out of the dealership at this point loudly explaining to my Dad who was with me that *salesman's name* was a complete jerk and didn't even know anything about the car.

Peoria Nissan:

Me: "I'm here looking for a 2013 Z 6MT Base + Sport in Midnight Blue."
Dealer: "The closest one is on the East Coast."
Me: I bring up Fontana Nissan and Planet Nissan's sites on my phone and email it to the dealer when I got home: "Show's that there's one in California and one in Vegas." Never received any response.

While waiting for the finance guy, our salesperson was giving us brief descriptions of some of the packages we could buy and he mentioned that pre-paid oil changes would include tire rotations for free so that I could save money on tire rotations.

Same Situation, except with the Finance Guy, happened to me...I had to explain to the guy the tires are staggered, and cannot be rotated (plus I don't like financing my oil changes), but he looked straight at me and said, "yeah but we can swap the wheels side to side..."... I just said "No.. move on". I was a tick away from asking for another finance guy... At the end of the transaction, he complained to my Salesman that I did not buy ANYTHING from him, apart from the vehicle that is.... (Chuckle)

Another one that was AWESOME...
(I had a Maxima that was totaled and it sat at the dealershit, and they tried to sell me a new one, which I didn't mind)

So, they brought a white one and they guy, like every sales guy goes, clean CarFax, 1 owner... I do a quick walk around, feel the paint, and I noticed something not Kosher... Popped the hood, awesome, for SURE painted...
I told the guy, and of course, he says, CarFax CarFax!... (They REALLY love that dumb *** thing...)
I showed him the paint overspray on the door jamb and overspray on the battery, and asked "Oh, so this is the way cars are from the factory?" He thought I was retarded and brought the sales manager... Sales manager said, yep, it's been painted and got a little pissed that they bought a damaged car...

Next Maxima they brought... Guy says it's an SV (for non-Maxima people, S is BASE, SV is leather, foglights, turn signals on the mirrors, and home link?)
He brings it out, gunmetal and I said "Oh, so dealer added leather?"
"Oh no, this is factory"...
"Um... No... This is a base S with added leather, see the lack of foglights and mirror signals?"
"This is a special 2010 model, they offered just leather"
So since the manager was still hanging around waiting for me to see the second one. I asked if I could get a word with him privately. Brought him over to the car, showed him something and said... "Look your boy doesn't know a goddamn thing about these cars. I really doubt Nissan fúcked up the stitching" (the center console lid and the door panels are "leather" no matter what trim package you get, and the stitching is like browny-orange... The stitching on the seats was white... LOL!!!)
I also said, "by the way... Front bumper has been repainted, the rubber seal between the hood and the bumper is painted over"

He asked if I wanted a job or could teach their sales team how to ID their cars

I bought my car from Grapevine! well kind of......HORRIBLE IDIOTS THERE! I went looking for a car there. tried to sell me a full base model, noSP for $35k. I told them they were idiots. Went to Nissan of Mckinney where I bought my altima. Sure enough I told them what I wanted. They sent out to grapevine, picked up the same car I looked at there and sold it to be for $31k.

More on that... I was having braking issues with my Maxima, they just wouldn't work... And I was involved with Nissan Corporate regarding it.
The dealership in Dallas said that because I had aftermarket foglights, "the ohmage of the ECU was out of spec and prevented the brakes from working"
I told that to my guy at corporate and he LAUGHED HIS ÁSS OFF, ("ohmage" isn't a word) he then called the dealership and told the manager to fire that service guy... Lo and behold... He doesn't work there anymore
