$12 a quart or so x 5 = $60 + labor and filter. That price sounds high!

Yea, the oil change at Nissan is $116 + Tax. I just got it done, but they quoted me $69 bucks at first because the service guy didn't know the exact price. Luckily for me he was too lazy to find out the real price and i signed the $69 quote. When I picked up my he was said, "I greatly undercharged you, so next time its $116 for the oil change." I said politely "DDDDDDDAMN, there will be no next time."

On the printed service order, it said Nissans ester oil 5w30 $12/quart.

$300 dollar for an oil change? That's absurd! Just buy a set of ramp for 30 bucks and do it yourself. Even with VERY good quality synthetic, you won't cross $80/change. This "special" ester oil, is NOT even synthetic. I think it's a synthetic blend with ester mixed. You can look at my DIY and get an idea how hard it will be. Good luck

My oil change at the dealer was $70, not much different than the quicky lube places that use regular synthetic.

I just confirmed w/ my dealer that the oil change using the Nissan $11 per quart ester oil is $69.95. I will be doing it next week, cheaper than at a shop which uses Mobil 1 Extended Performance.

I asked why Ester and was told it had to do with engine start-up. Just got my first (free from dealer first time). Normally $99. So if I go with the Stillen Oil cooler, I'll need another 1 -1.5 quarts(?). Well, just consider we are helping the economy.

I swear by AMSOIL 100% Synthetic. I change my AMSOIL every 25k like the bottle says it's good for, and it comes out looking just how it went in. No drops in fuel efficiency.
