Traded my Z
I recently traded in my 2009 Chicane yellow Z base + sport for a 2013 G37. Someone got a great deal as they sold my car for a little over 22K. The car had a few normal wear and tear issues like rock chips and some light curb rash, but it was mechanically great and garage kept. Whoever got her I hope they treat her right. BTW the dealership where I bought the G37 was Tysons Corner Infiniti. I have a few items that another Z owner might be interested in. I will list them in the for sale section.

All the best on the G37! |
I loved my G37 it just didn't have that some spirit. But nice luxury.

nice G37. What color?
|
I got just about $21k. It was book value for an excellent condition '09 Z. The dealership didn't make a mint from it, but considering they did no recon on the car, and sold it in ~ 2 weeks. Not bad for them, but not a fortune.

The G37 is a Malbec Black sedan. Really cool color, but I am going to have a hell keeping it looking nice. The G certainly doesn't drive like the Z. (I definitely miss my Z) but the G is much more luxurious, and still has some giddyup. I also like that I don't have to worry so much about the boy racers, or the trucks harassing me quite so much when I am driving, not to mention the cops marking me. I had one speeding ticket in over 30 years of driving before the Z, I can't count how many tickets, warnings, and cops tailing me I had in the Z.
The other thing is the rarity of the CY Z was nice. I never saw another one like mine while driving, but I could not drive anonymously anymore. |
I seriously considered the G 37 when I bought my Z. I've often wondered if I'd been happier with it's quiet ride and comfort. I'd like to hear how you feel in terms of the comparison as the weeks and months click by.

If I ever get rid of my Z I'll get a G37 IPL

Congrats on the trade...I missed the luxury feel of the G and the awesome sport seats for a few weeks after picking of my Z. But quickly forgot all about, the Z is just so raw I love it! Funny I saw the dude who bought my G today in traffic, thing still looks sexy. Enjoy it!

cool story not the biggest upgrade but an upgrade. The G37 i test drove actually felt more torquey than my 6mt z.. probably because it was auto lol
|
Hope you like it! I test drove both before choosing the Z. The ammenities and luxury were definitely better than the Z. But driving them both was night and day for me. The G37 just felt very lifeless and lacked character to me. Plus I hate the auto trans in Infiniti's. Gotta say it's the worst auto tranny I've ever driven. My wife has a G37 sedan and we both hate the transmission. The delay when accelerating absolutely kills me not to mention it's dangerous. The Z was the right choice for me, but hopefully the G does you good. It's a sweet car for sure, just not my cup of tea.

i think the G37's are best in sedan form imho. i still have my 9yr old G35C... im the original owner. :icon17: now im kinda undecided if i should just keep her until she falls apart, or sell her before no more value left. regardless, it's still a great car and has a lot more driving character than even my 370Z. |
