Per the book 30sec minimum and I start moving the car slowly. 180 for the oil and then drive normally. I do not at all drive the car sportingly until the oil/gearbox and differential/rear end are warm and that takes a few miles.

Its a package deal and warming the car up is more than just the motor oil. Any performance driving needs a nice warm up on the brakes as well with proper tire pressures to boot.

you turn your car on with the garage door closed? I would highly advise against doing that for your own safety

Not that big of a deal any more with modern engines/exhausts. I wouldn't suggest running the car for extended periods in an enclosed space but a few seconds/minutes in a garage won't hurt you (assuming the engine is in decent tune and pollution devices are working). Yes, the cats aren't working at first, so you will get a small amount of CO, but they warm up pretty quickly.

I don't drive my Z everyday so I always let it "warm up" for about 10 minutes. If I have to hop over to the store or gas station I just get in my truck, start it up and put it in reverse lol 145K miles and still running strong.

If I have time, 5 or 10 minutes. I'll run downstairs, start it up, lock it, then come upstairs and wait.

If I don't have time, I'll still wait until radiator temps get to where they usually operate at and take off.

Always keep it under 4k until oil temps get to 180ish.

I wait 30 secs or so before easy driving the first few miles. I'll up the time as it gets colder.

I'll pull the car out of the garage when the water temp moves off the bottom dot. Light throttle, keeping it under 3k rpm until the oil is at running temp (180+).
