I never drive my car in the winter.
Spring and summer temps I stick by this rule: Start car, let it run for one min, drive under 2500 rpm until car warms up and I'm good to go. Really, sitting there idling does no good, it's better to slowly drive your car until it gets to temps.

I wait for the initial drop from ~1500rpm to ~1200rpm and then try to keep it under ~4000 until oil temp shows 150*. Don't know if that's good, bad, or indifferent but that's what I do...lol.
