For people don't know the Z history of course they wouldn't notice. But when you go to the car meet and people ask you is that a 40th? What you gonna say? And further more, when you sell your car are you gonna tell people it's the 40th? I give you this example so now people can't use performance crap to debate on it. Yes, there IS a versioning no matter it's a better version or same version...
You have a very valid point!

12 now....I want to thank you all for participating in this conversation. I am sorry if it offended some along the way. You guys are a good crowd. In the end we all are just part of community with the same general interest - cars.

As for my car, I've decided to go without the Nismo emblem. While it was entertaining to keep this thread going, there'll always be my fiancee who supported me financially thru this conversion project that will call me out on me being a poseur. lol I've been pretty passionate about the Nismo since day 1 but she'll never understand why I didn't just get one in the first place.

Funny thing is, I would be in the same boat - of wanting all the features my current car has which the Nismo lacked.

I do respect her taste though, I'm not going to go with shaved emblems nor blacked out emblems. While it also looks nice, I personally like a little bit of contrast on my Magnetic black Z and don't want with the murdered out batmobile look. My car is black enough with the tint and dark gunmetal powdercoated wheels.

I'm just going to have the silver Nissan logo in front and back without the 370z emblem or the Nismo emblem. Who knows, maybe someday I'll slap on the emblem to make it look good =) Hopefully I'm getting my Z back next week and I'll post some pictures in my journal.

Anyone know how I can close this thread?
