Interesting, I like to meet another Nismo fan here that has a nav in their car. I don't want to be the only person.

Don't forget the RC is sold as a race car and according to nissan it can not be registered on public roads. I don't know how the DMV will know is a race car(besides the VIN #) but that is what I read on the RC.

I believe there are 2 versions, one that can, and one that can't be registered

If you really want the badge throw it on the car but if you show it, you will probably be called out on it. That said, I've ripped a lot of what made my current car a nismo off. The exhaust and cats have been replaced, the wheels have been powder coated which leaves the VLSD, the numbered plaque, the sways, the body kit and the red stitching on the steering wheel and seats. If I had it to do over again, I might build up a sport and not mod a nismo but with that said, I love my car to pieces. Bottom line: You're not "making nismo owners butthurt" or whatever that other guy said and it's your car so do what you want with it. Depending on how you use it, it may not matter.

99% of people that look at your car OP, aren't going to know what the hell a "Nismo" is anyways... so just put it on so this silly thread can finally end!

I don't think it does to most Nismo owners, but I bet a few are! I think the OP's car is Nismo enough, so who cares

I think you have wacky ideas about how much ~NISMO OWNERS~ care about the badging on their cars.
Can't speak for everyone who owns one but i bought it for the body kit and the fact that it's a stamped piece of crazy automotive history.

Next gen Z. If Nissan does what they're supposed to with Nismo? Then the rebadge shyt might matter? But as for now? The Glorified base+sport with extra's that don't do extra anything except make the ride more uncomfortable? Who gives a F**k? Do what you like. There is no prestige in a Nismo. It's an appearance preference buy that does nothing to help performance. 18 extra hp keeps the performance the same because it gains well over 100lbs so...

Thanks for all the feedback.
I don't believe that me putting the Nismo should offend any Nismo owners. While that's true, I find it very interesting that most agree if I convert a car to a full Nismo kit, they shouldn't put on the Badge due to others having the need to call somebody else out on it. The purpose of this thread for me was to see what the community feels about this idea rather than what I should do. I've already decided whether to badge it or not so to me. I like the styling of the Nismo and I am glad the Nismo division spent their time and money to make this car and sold it as a premium trim. As a stock OEM car, it's probably one of my favorite cars you can get at $40K. Not everyone would want to void warranty and play with aftermarket stuff; some people just love to drive it as is. I chose the path of turning everything related to my 370z into a mini project so I decided to pick this path to start with a Sports/Touring then upgrade to a Nismo body kit. While I'm also a track junkie, I also like what's great for my purpose; so OEM Nismo for suspension, sways, isn't what I'm looking for. I would have done the same even if I bought a Nismo 370z in the first place; while I love the body kit, I would be like some of the owners here which would have sold most of the Nismo 370z performance related items over time and replaced it with some better performance related items. While both path's different, IMO the car is still the same mix and match OEM/Aftermarket OEM performance parts so I don't understand why anyone should need to call out if it's a Nismo or not. Where's the tipping point of when it's not a Nismo anymore? or Vise-versa? That's the interesting discussion we've been talking about. For the ones that aren't interested in this topic, "just unsubscribe", it's that simple, there's plenty of random pointless threads floating on the forum everyday; no need to get so worked up. I'm not. |

As for the Nismo division in their defense; they did invest time & money in research to improve the stock car for what the general market would like. There'll always be something on the Nismo someone's not gonna like for what they put together as a package.
Take the GT-R for an example: A freaking awesome great car. The next Nismo GT-R R35 they're making in progress; I bet you they're gonna mark up the car by an amount which one would argue with the same amount of $ spent they could buy better aftermarket stuff on their regular R35 and give the Nismo R35 nothing to brag about. That'll be the case ALWAYS. There's plenty of aftermarket companies (i.e. KW, Whiteline, Stillen, Berk, Fast Intentions, etc) which specializes one/few particular functional parts which will sell for less and perform better. Nismo will never be able to compete while they try their best by partnering up with specialized companies like Brembo/Ray's Volks, etc as much as they can. If I was a great design engineers at a particular part, heck, I'd leave and start my own division and brand it. While all this is true, I still appreciate the Nismo 370z. Not everybody likes to work on their car and put not factory backed up parts. Plus, the Nismo body looks good and is functional. Cost justification is over rated. |

Add to the list of things you're missing the VLSD off the nismo as well. My only point is that if you're hellbent on making your car a "nismo", you can't. You *can make it better than a stock nismo* which lots of people do but to be honest, it's really not a pissing contest. I don't get the hostility. Quote:
