I did a full Nismo conversion and I installed an eBay Nismo emblem! But I don't give a DAMN what others think about that, it's my car and it looks sick. LOL

A fully loaded touring with nismo exterior and 40th interior will be epic...that's unicorn and you can put whatever badge on it you want....custom make a batch "Nismo 40th 1 of 1"
|
Holy crap a lot of people are looking at this thread right now

I would have converted that 40th to a Nismo. all I had to say was, WHY?!? I also led to thinking, hmm, which badge would I keep?!? |
Lol, at that point, I'd badge that bitch to high hell, Nissan Datsun 370Z Fairlady Z 40th Nismo with ALL the damn placards! (With one mod)
The Nismo would say 0001, and the 40th would have to say 1 of 1 bitch |

If only the nismo was actually faster than a regular Z, then that fancy body kit would make a lot more sense. Save your money OP, or drop in a turbo kit so that body kit will have some use.

I troll |
I think if a true nismo conversion is done, adding the badge is fine. But not if it's half mixed with other parts. ie Amuse front, stillen sides and Nismo rear. LOL Keep it real or get out. LOL
|
oh yah, scruffy, you're going to need factory nismo wheels too. :D
that's the only nismo bit i have on my car. |

Crowdsourced 370z
Similarly, the Crowdsourced 370z - converted from a sport version 370z to a Nismo Body kit didn't badge it with anything, not even the 370z on the left side.
http://images.thecarconnection.com/l...00418835_l.jpg http://images.thecarconnection.com/l...00418836_l.jpg Does it look kinda empty without any badges? Compared to: http://www.webwombat.com.au/motoring...0z-nismo-2.jpg |

Then he didn't want a Nismo in the first place end of story. |
I would put it on if I were in your position scuffy!

http://i358.photobucket.com/albums/o...psf889e0eb.png http://i358.photobucket.com/albums/o...ps8bc7f9e1.png I just decided to convert a Fully loaded Sport/Touring/Nav one to Nismo rather than to spend my first 3 years driving in a bare minimal standard features as my daily driver. I've actually researched a lot to see what separated the Nismo trim from all the other Base/Sport Models and how much I would have to spend in both situations, created BOM of parts I need to order, etc. Turns out most of the Performance related stuff even if I have gotten a NISMO 370z, I would have thrown most those things out and have upgraded it. (I.E. Suspension -> KW V3, Sways -> Whiteline, Exhaust, etc, etc) Back in 2008 when I first saw the 370z in the car show room floor. I fell in love with the Alcantara/Leather seats with the integrated Climate Control to the nav. I'm not trying to talk down about the Nismo but the Nismo they sold here lacked all of those features. |
Like I tell the G37 guys that put Skyline badging on their cars.................We don't live in Japan.
Then next, you didn't want a Nismo because you would have thrown the performance parts out, once again you didn't REALLY want a Nismo. Why does this thread even exist? Would I put Nismo badging on my Sport because I wanted the auto instead of the 6mt? No, not even if I went to all the effort to make it a Nismo wannabe. |

I wanted both the Nismo body kit and the Touring package, in the end of it, regardless of which car I would have started with, it's the same result. |
Honestly OP, I wouldn't do it... There are to many badges and emblems on the Nismo Z as it is. I debadged mine, so if you really want it I'll sale it to you, lol.
|
hi scruffy- i think the nismo is more of an all driving car, not a daily driver type...meaning, bare minimum convenience things and light as possible. i would not have been surprised if they released a stripped version like the s2k CR with a/c and basic stereo as an option. :)
your goal is to have all the luxury of the touring and the nismo styling. it's one of a kind. mr. gurney converted his 40th to nismo body kit with nismo wheels. looks fantastic. very original. now going back to the nismo badge... that's completely up to you. |

Your car scruffy, your call. My opinion? No badges. Take the opportunity when they paint your bumpers to shave the hamburgers. |
Monday, Wednesday, Friday put the Nismo badge on. Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday take the badge off. Sunday take a break, put the z away and take your family with your mini-van do grocery shoppings. Problem solved.

Maybe this is a stretch, but if you consider the GT-R for a second or a ///M3, they too have a standard Nav (GT-R w/ that PS3 display too) with all the bells and whistles. But then again those cars are a lot more expensive so one would expect that stuff to come std. I think it comes down to what the general market's willing to pay and what kind of customers they can attract. A stripped down bare bone interior Nismo 370z at $42K, one would already question if it's really worth it. If they did try to market the JDM Nismo 370z in US, it would easily be another ~$7K-$10K. At that point, they'll realize that the market is very slim and they'll go back to what the general market would pay for and can live without. In the end I believe it's cost. This same goes with the 40th Anniversary edition, aside from US, outside market have the option to get it with a Nav. If you look at what they're already asking for the 40th Anniversary edition, we're already looking at $40K+ MSRP for the same car that's a lot less. |

I would prefer to have the silver Nissan emblems just for some contrast in color. I actually kinda miss the Hyper silver wheels look sometime. Quote:
