LOL, I think you guys worrry about crap that doesn't matter. Overheating fuel pump as a primary cause of said fuel pump quitting?... I doubt it. You have some other issue other than you keep letting your gas tank get to 2 dots if your fuel pump quits.
Now I am all worried and cannot sleep......What is the volume of EACH Dot ????
