Otherwise, I think if one always drove AT, left foot braking would be all right. For us, that have always drove manuals, it would be a bad idea. I was always taught "when in doubt, both feet out." Disaster with an AT.

LMAO, I agree, but AT's don't suck
(May I point out, hitting the brake thinking is the clutch is a user error, LOL)

I regularly switch back and forth between right and left foot braking depending on what kind of driving I'm doing, regardless of the car's transmission.
Concentrate on what you're doing (driving, not texting, drinking a latte or readjusting your junk) and it's not an issue.

This.
So used to pressing the clutch right down, the two times I have ever braked with my left foot just to try it out (after karting all day) I almost went through the windshield. Good think no one was behind me!

I can do it because of karting & be just as smooth. I'll do it during aggressive driving to settle the car before going into a turn - easier to tap the brake & get right back on the throttle. But for long distance driving I find it annoying just because of having to hold your foot back. In a kart, you just rest you foot on the 'side' of the pedal so you're pushing outboard and not dragging the brake.

I have only done this in cars prone to stalling out at idle.
