Default Tach needle sticking...

this has only happened a handful of times, but sometimes the tach needle will stick at 3k rpm. it will move, but only upwards of 3...so like when it read's 5k, im actually only at 2k. I try to turn the car off several times, but nothing works, it just goes back to that 3k postion after it sweeps. I have no idea what it could be. I took it into the dealer today for my oil change, but they said nothing was wrong. any ideas?

hard reset the ecu? unplug your battery overnight and it should reset the ecu including the cmu that controls the dash. Don't forget to reprogram your window functioning.

My girlfriend's Denali did the same thing. Take a cell video to prove it. That will force a new tach to be installed. You can't mess with proof, you know? Good luck!
