Repainting to a satin finish

well guys im going to be repainting my 40TH pretty soon, and im at the point of thinking of going satin finish on my 40TH stock color or just go regular gloss finish.

what do you guys think ? i just want some input i guess

Wow, no...
Please Jesus no...

Why REpaint too?

Your car's resale is probably better if you respray the original color. You can probably save some money, too, by only re-spraying the bits that need it and then blending with the rest.

Although satin could look interesting :)

Lol!!! C'mon, REpaint the front bumper, god knows it was a shítty color match anyways. Have them put an extra coat of clear, then clearbra the front of the car

For the 40th I would definitely recommend a wrap if you want to go with a color change. It'll help protect what's left of the paint and you can always go back when you change your mind. Plus it's cheaper.

I was just about to post what dP3NGU1N did. If it's only temporary, I'd wrap it. Painting is more expensive, effects resale. Wrapping looks just as good and can be taken off at any time.

I was actually excited to see what a 40th in a different color would look like ;)

kensin0429 02-16-2013 01:08 PM

It's basically the same color , just without the gloss , not changing the color

TripleBlkZ 02-16-2013 01:49 PM

If your not changing the color just repaint the bumper. If you want a different color wrap it. Keep in mind the wrap is only good for ~5 years. So yes it's cheaper and can be removed but if you wanted to keep the color for a longer period of time painting may be better in the longer time frame.

Also if you have that type of wear on your front bumper after only a few years I would be a little concerned how well the wrap would hold up compared to a good repaint w/ a clear bra.

Either way sounds like you have to do something

kensin0429 02-16-2013 02:12 PM

Yea , I live in a desert and the windiest point at that , I might just repaint the bumper and juat wrap it .

Can I clearbra it and then wrap it on top ?

PapoZalsa 02-16-2013 02:15 PM

Why repiant a car that is like less than 3 yrs old? :shakes head:

Does the OP has money burning his pocket?

The OP can send the money my way, I need some tires for ZdayZ or a new set of wheels for eye candy. :ugh2:

You CAN, but MAYBE you'll see through the wrap and see the lines of the clear bra.
Just paint it then wrap right after!
You should go for "black brushed aluminum"
I have yet to see it on a Z, and I think it looks sick

864Zbeast 02-16-2013 02:18 PM

Just wrap it a bada** color!!! It'll protect the paint and look sick and when you want it off just get it off.
