In the past this tends to run my bill up rather quick (example my 2006 Mustang with roughly 26k in parts cost me a little over 9k just for the installs). Ideally in the end if I can have my 370 putting down at least 400 RWHP (either N/A build or F/I build) I would be satisfied. I haven't looked yet but another member said parts are pricey, so hopefully I can get as much as possible done with the funds I have available to start this project. I started this thread because this will be my own little reference point. Like I said I've been in the Mustang world for a while now and know very little about imports, specific builds and aftermarket part vendors. Essentially all responses on this thread will help me build my project and I appreciate any info. Cheers! |

No need for driveshaft, it's already carbon. HFC's and Long tubes can only be done with Fast Intentions or Motordyne's exhaust systems. Or you can buy a mid pipe back of anything and just buy a Motordyne Y pipe and HFC. Both excellent companies. Most who run long tubes, don't use a cat.
If you are trying to reach 400whp, I say go for a GTM supercharger kit and breather mods. Don't worry about the headers. The car has a decent set of equal length shorties anyways. Get an oil cooler asap, 25 row minimum. Replace the brake lines and pads, get some good fluid for your brakes. If you are trying to buy all that, expect to pay over $20k regardless of who you buy from, we have to pay the Z tax.

400+ whp is going to take boost of some type. 20k isn't a bad budget for a good FI build.

You guys need to post more often then There're several longtime forum members that have moved on to Mustangs from their 370Zs and they are quite vocal about it We need guys like you to step up on behalf of the Z haha. But seriously, it's all in good humor. Real car guys respect car guys

I'm looking at this site with all Stillen made parts. Does anyone have any pos/neg feed to share? I'm only asking because its looks close to a one stop shop which I prefer instead of shopping from multiple vendors. Any thoughts on the SC as well?

Stillen isn't bad, but there are better products. Their CAI is pretty stellar on the other hand. Most agree that GTM has the better supercharger kit. Some however have had success with the Stillen unit. Again, I recommend reading all the feedback on the forum, there is a $hit ton of information and opinions.

Anywho, looks like you have enough to either completely pimp out the Z with a NA build which would put you around ~340whp, or start a FI build. Last edited by lemon-fresh; 02-12-2013 at 06:52 PM. |

there is tons of information and interaction. Basic start is exhaust then new intakes. But if you want to go further look at GTM kits they seem to be some of the best on the market. Cheers

Welcome... Hey I came from a Porsche 996TT to my ZR and I really enjoy it. I will also go for the power in the near future. This is a great group of people that will give you great advise and or tell you to use the search button lol! I personally want to try the NA mods first CBE, HFC, CAI & Tune then after a while if I want more power go for the FI build!!

This isn't a bad plan, but you may be spending a lot of money on parts you have no use for if you go FI.

Boosted performance turbo kit, FI Exhaust, tune. $13k give or take a grand or so. 5kish left over to go towards suspensions and brakes. More stopping power. Better handling. 500ish whp. Done.

So this is a Z forum that glorifies, 5.0's, the C7 before it's reviewed and used porsche cayman S's. Lastly if you believe your Z may be able to win at a track against anything American or German? Be prepared to argue all day. Enjoy your Z. |
