What to do with my tax return??

Ok need some tips and suggestions, Im getting my tax return soon and will have around 2500 to spend on mods for my Z. I was thinking FI exhaust, other then that I dont know what to do I really am going crazy here racking my brain trying to figure out that to do? I was also thinking maybe a CF hood or maybe try to find some wheels, I know I dont have enough for a brake kit. Hell I dont know what would you all do??????:ugh2:

Fearless_Z 02-07-2013 11:07 PM

What's more important to you at this point? Performance or looks?

Wonka2581 02-07-2013 11:13 PM

Ahh its kinda a toss up really I want it to look good and drive good,

Leuz 02-07-2013 11:29 PM

I would go for FI exhaust. That said, I guess it's up to you ;)

Fearless_Z 02-07-2013 11:31 PM

Well the Z's come out of the factory sexy,...natrually. So I say performance (FI exhaust) as well. ;)

does anyone know of any affordable beake kits? I have the bottom of the line braks. I would even be happy with stock sport brakes,

BUMP:stirthepot:

karotZ 02-08-2013 01:19 AM

I'm buying a new NRG steering wheel and bucket seats, harness bar and harness, and then finally some coilovers. After those, my Z is asthetically done, next year's return will be all NA mods.

Wonka2581 02-08-2013 01:25 AM

Very nice, I have along way to go..........:crying:

Take your time man. Get premium mods, don't repeat most people's mistakes like I did: changed interior multiple times, changed body kits multiple times, changed wheels multiple times. It's cool, but big waste on money.

The Z already looks tight, performs really good. Get a stillen g3 and FI cbe for now. Get an oil cooler too if possible.

EDIT

I didnt see you already have g3. Get an oil cooler and FI cbe. Add HFC if possible.

Wonka2581 02-08-2013 01:32 AM

I plan on getting FI, I was also thinking about getting some coilovers from a member on here along with his camber kit.... What do you think?

BlackVQ37 02-08-2013 01:49 AM

Check out Z1 they be having some good deals that where i be buying some of my stuff Z1Motorsports.com - Nissan 300zx, 350Z, 370Z, Infiniti G35, GTR, and G37 Parts and Performance Experts.

Wonka2581 02-08-2013 02:06 AM

OK thanks.

bigdog1250 02-08-2013 07:53 AM

Place your order for the FI now, it will take a while to build and you only need a few hundred as a down payment

edub370 02-08-2013 08:03 AM

just drove a cayman S last night. it was AMAZING. i say get one of those :stirthepot:

Wonka2581 02-08-2013 08:30 AM

How longs the wait for FI

NickTurnon 02-08-2013 09:11 AM

I know of people that are selling the FI exhaust locally. You dont have to buy a new one. Many people are selling used ones with 1-3k miles on them

Grab one of those for a couple hundred cheaper and dont wait the 15 weeks wait

:iagree: I would do the exhaust and intake!

Osiris 02-08-2013 09:25 AM

if you're getting a $2500 tax return, then i'd be adjusting my W2 so that they aren't taking so much tax out of my paychecks.

bfowlzr33 02-08-2013 09:37 AM

ok wonka, i know you said you wont have enough for a brake kit, but you actually do! you can get the akebono brake kit that comes with the sport package and even in red to match your car. ive been thinking about doing this myself since i have the non sport model. and on top of the sport package brake upgrade, you can get some stillen j hook or some drilled and slotted rotors for even better performance. heres the link and feel free to rep!:tiphat:

Z1 Akebono Sport Brake Upgrade Package

jpritche 02-08-2013 09:38 AM

Hookers and Blow?

But seriously, Z1 Brakes, or get the FI exhaust. I have both. Love them both,.

Wonka2581 02-08-2013 09:45 AM

Well I'm def getting an FI exhaust no matter what! But them it leaves me short for the break kit so I SOL there.

gomer_110 02-08-2013 11:40 AM

If you're already doing the FI CBE you might as well just get their LTH's while you're at it. Combined they should run close to your budget.

Gauge 02-08-2013 12:55 PM

If he wants to turbo at some point the headers are a waste of money

:iagree:

SC'd would still an option though.

DIGItonium 02-08-2013 01:39 PM

Use the money to get something that's more dramatic. Brake kits won't do much for you because the stock brakes are functional enough. If you get a BBK it'll be cool, but then you realize it stops your car just as well since 95% of your braking is casual.

Wheels are the best because it makes a big difference on your car's overall looks, but you might want to give it a 1" drop to give a better stance.

CF hood is cool, but that's it. You already have a hood.

Forced Induction is the most dramatic and definitely improves the fun to drive factor.

Wonka2581 02-08-2013 02:45 PM

That's very true I might try to look into some wheels any ideas for around 1g or 1500?

Look into Vossens or just browse Craigslist

Gauge 02-08-2013 03:18 PM

If you can't spend more than 1.5 on wheels then your stock ones will be better...

dAvenue 02-08-2013 04:41 PM

I'd avoid FI based on the nightmares documented here on the forum. So if it were me, I would upgrade the HFC, catback and suspension. That's the best bang for the buck in my opinion.

dAvenue 02-08-2013 04:44 PM

By "FI", I meant Forced Induction. Fast Intentions is a very good exhaust.

Waiz 02-08-2013 04:51 PM

The first thing that you should do with your tax return is adjust your withholdings so that you get more money during the year and not a return at the end of the year

You are overpaying your taxes, this is not free money that you should be spending :ugh2:

<- Gets off soap box

dmhenderson 02-08-2013 05:12 PM

I'm finishing up my last couple mods with it. Upgrade my headlights one more time, add 15mm/20mm H&R spacers, add hood damper kit, add Z1 silicone hoses. I don't want to drop the car so no coilovers... Nothing left to do :/

Mr. Q 02-08-2013 05:54 PM

I hate all of you who get money back.

Wonka2581 02-08-2013 07:03 PM

Well I'm thinking FI exhaust and an oil cooler does anyone know a good one to get? And I'm thinking about getting a 3M clear bra.

Well when you get the tax check you can say its "extra" cash you can use to mod your car without feeling guilty of spending money from each paycheck:tup:

DIGItonium 02-08-2013 08:59 PM

Never short change yourself because you'll never be happy with your purchase. If you can't get anything now, just save your money.

:iagree:

Seriously don't think you have to get something. Get what you want and only what you want. If you need to wait, then wait. Waiting only makes it better when you get it.
