Default Stupid Things You've Done in Your Z

I had a total face-palm moment today.

This morning I went to the gym, and was backing into a parking space. I was moving really slow, and I accidentally touched the curb. I got out, checked everything out, and luckily I was moving slow enough that there was zero scraping or damage. (Duh moment #1)

This isn't the stupidest thing though. The reason for this post came as I was leaving the gym. I was pulling out of the parking lot, started moving toward the next intersection, and all of a sudden I hear a loud chopping/thumping sound. I freaked. I whipped my ride over to the side of the road, frantically scrambled for the pause button on my stereo, and flung my door open. I thought, "Oh sh*t! I knocked my tire off the rim when I parked, or my rear bumper is dragging or something!" (Despite the fact that I just inspected it, and literally hit the curb at like, .5 mph.)

Helicopter. It was a freakin' helicopter going overhead. *face-palm* Got back in my car, drove to work.

Anyone done something this embarrassing before? Just thought it was funny and I'd share.

i saw a 370z several months ago with ugly sunken wheels and the driver was rocking away to some loud music.

i was embarrased seeing that.

hit a column in our underground parking at work. I've never hit anything ever. I was honestly shocked. Of all the times to be my first time hitting something it had to be a concrete column and had to be my new sports car.

Kicker is, the scrape went deep and it crossed over the fender bumper area. So both pieces will need to be repainted. I'm waiting until the spring to do it.

I also curbed my wheel because I decided to drive on a humid rainy day. Well my wife decided because she wanted to look cool pulling up to one of her work events.

Stopped at a light, turned on the heat (for some reason my car automatically turns on AC all the time), instantly fogged up the glass and the light turned green. Couldn't see **** and hit the curb.

So yea, I've been very unlucky. Never hit anything before in my life and have done two things in my Z already.

I'm learning though. This thing only gets driven on sunny days now. As far as the column, I was just really really sleepy going to work one day and needed to pay attention more.

Stopped my car to take a video. Noticed a 4 inch curb with a 2ft gap and another 4 inch curb after that (for water run off), took a mental note, did my thing, got back in my car and drove over the curbs. I nearly shat myself. some undertray plastic damage, front bumper popped loose on the fenders, no rim dents, or curb rash, no tire damage. I almost cried. It was the most awful sound as it bounced and thudded over the curbs.

When I recently did the transmiission and diff fluids, we put one end of the car up on ramps on a slight incline (leveling the car properly). We put jack stands underneath it just for safety, though there was a bit of the gap between the car and the stands. When I went to back the car off the ramps after the transmission flush, we forgot to take out the jack stands I knocked one of them over and got hung up on the other one just as I started down the ramp incline. Carefully pulled back up on the ramps, removed the jack stands, and determined there was no damage, thankfully. So we turn the car around and back it on the ramps to do the rear diff. We again put the jack stands under the car, though this time they were much more flush. When we're done, my buddy starts to back the car off the ramps and realizes immediately that we left the jack stands under there again Luckily, this stupid sequence had zero consequences, but it was still stupid

Another reason that auto-ac thing is stupid. Drives me nuts. I've had the same thing happen before getting on an on-ramp. Luckily I sat at the light for a minute or two so it cleared up.

I haven't done that, but I did once try to leave a stop sign in third. Just wanted to see what it was like to park in the middle of an intersection...

JARblue: That reminds me of when I first got my '03 Maxima. I was doing my first oil change on it, and was pulling it up onto ramps. The tires were a little wet, and I wasn't real familiar with how to feather the gas to get it up on the ramps safely. The tire slipped, the traction control kicked in, and somehow I ended up on the passenger ramp while the driver side flew out from under the car.

I sat in my car, one side up, for a half hour until my friend could come over and jack the car up off the ground. I couldn't get out because the door was too close to the ground, and my other door was against the garage wall. That was awkward.

Oh man that sucks you couldn't even get out! When I got hung up, I was worried, but my buddy kept me calm, said everything was fine after looking under the car and just told me to be smooth getting it back up on the ramp. I was able to feather the clutch pretty well, but I went ahead and used the ebrake to make sure I didn't lurch or roll back.

I got all you beat. Left my hod pins unlatched and hood flew open damaging it. Took it to the body shop to get it fixed. Spent $400. Got it back and two days later did the same $hit. What a F'ing retard. Both times I was going slow.

Drove the Z to work. Parked. Pressed the button to turn the car off. Let off the clutch. Car lunged forward and stalled.

I pressed the radio button.

I was mad at my girlfriend so while driving into a gas station...Not paying attention to the gas fill ports in the floor...I drive ove one of them that was higher then your normal speed bump. CLANG CLUNK...CRAP!!!!

I get out and inspect the car and it looks like nothing happened. Well we go home and I wake up the next morning to see oil on the ground

I tow the car to Carmax to get the oil pan inspected and or replaced and of course they tell me that the car is still under manufacturer warrantee for the drive train so have to send it to Nissan but I need a car. The guys there have ALWAYS provided me with bad arse (good) service and offered just to check it out in case it was a minor fix etc. They called me into the service area where the car was on the lift and the dude had a HUGE smile on his face and said you have no leaks brother. I was like

Apparently it scraped a little on the chasis supposrts but very little and thats it. I asked how much for the diagnostic and they said you've been through enough Merry Christmas and be on your way!

Awesome = them...Stupid Idiot = me

Upon further investigation the oil came from my girlfriends dad's camry which was parked in that spot before I got there ROTFLMAO!!!!
