So i went in today to get my free first oil change and when I got home i looked at the receipts and everything and noticed that they used 0W-20 Synthetic oil. I have noticed on the forums and in the manual it says to use 5W-30. I am fixing to call the service department and see what is up with this.... Do they not have a clue what is going on?

Give a call and ask exactly what product they used. Some 0/20's are very good oils that are stiff 20's that don't sheer. Some 30w's sheer to a 20w in 1000 miles. Depends on the product etc...

I just got back from the stealership and they admitted that they "grabbed" the wrong oil and replaced it and the oil filter with the correct products. They also gave me a credit for another oil change along with several apologies from the all the mangers along with the salesman.
This really makes me nervous that if they couldn't even put the correct oil in my Z what else could they forget? Looks like i will be doing my own maintenance from now on. Lesson learned. |

According to everything I could find, with the help of this forum, the oil with ester, is far superior. (I don't know what ester is??) Mobile One has ester.

Don't trust stealerships.
I got them to change my waterpump (should have done it myself) and they 'forgot' to put coolant back in.

That everyone thinks you have to take that shroud off to do an oil change... The dealer ONLY takes off the back 4, and bends the plastic down |

heck, using synthetic on a free is nice. They tried to use bottom barrel in mine, and I damn near slapped the taste out of their mouth.
