This happened to me once!
I accidentally rolled down my windows when it was sprinkling in a shopping center parking lot. Luckily nobody noticed my car; it was unattended, windows down, unlocked, parked far away in the dark, and my wallet and MacBook Pro were in a backpack tucked behind the passenger seat. I was away from my car for a little over an hour. When I returned, my heart nearly sank to my stomach when I saw it sitting there with the windows down. I'm way more careful now because of it, but I sometimes have a nagging suspicion that my car is unlocked as I'm walking away from it. It always happens when I'm just far away enough that the remote doesn't work.
