p.s. I made that iphone mount next to the control unit out of an old mophie Juice pack case. It works great. I attached it with som bendy thin iron by pulling out the shift lever cover and screwing it into a screw up on there. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1362280650.195611.jpg
But that another topic.

So, if you are in a "jammer illegal, but detector legal" state, you are still good to go to get one professionally installed. Then its up to you to decide when and where to turn the jammers on. Or just install it yourself, but its pretty involved and you have to pull out a LOT of trim, open the stereo up for a good power lead, unzip your steering wheel, and probably the bumper too. Fun if your a preficient install guy, (I am not THAT good)

But it easy to master the operator side.. Really once it's set.. It is self sustaining minus the occasionally USB update |

Currently using the 9500ix and the ZR4 shifter. The detector has paid for itself literally countless times over, especially considering the GPS function for speed cameras which are everywhere here. The only good thing is that because of the speed cams generating so much revenue, there are rarely any actual cops out doing speed traps And radar detectors, laser jammers and all the like are totally legal out here in the 'Wild West' lol.
The ZR4 has been good so far, haven't had any massive saves from it on the HWY yet, but it's bought me some time in the city before. |

Cop radar suggestion needed
Anyone have any suggestions for a decently average cop radar with about a 1 mile range, under 100 bucks? Or maybe the best one I can find in the $50-$100 range? I just can't seem to justify paying $500 for a cop radar knowing I still have the possibility of getting pulled over. Thanks a bunch!

The best cop radar is not to speed. Beleive me ive had too many tickets to even count for speeding. Just do the speed limit, and then mash it when no one is looking.

With radar detectors, you're gonna get what you pay for. Any one thats under $300 isnt worth it.

Beltronix makes good detectors for $200-300. Buy on Amazon and you're set

Top ones for the $300-500 price range are going to be:
Beltronics (not sure on their model numbers in this category) Valentine V1 Escort 9500ix However these will all be window mounted units, and therefore spottable if your state doesn't permit radar detectors, like say VA.

Also if you're in a state that has Radar Detector Detector usage, (like VA again), there are only 2 that are invisible to these RDDs, the BEL STi, and the Escort 9500ci (which I have).
