is GTR going backwards? i dont think so.
i think the issue is 20yr olds in japan not buying cars instead buying anime toys to play dressup or something at home (home as in parent's place). the older folks want to spark interest in wat guys use to play with...cars. but ends up in the hands of middle-aged folks. ok, im just rambling now. back to topic. |

Interesting news. I'll reserve my Love and Hate opinion once the new Z comes out.
For now I am happy as IMO still no car in the market has matched the Z in terms of value and performance. Its not a perfect/refined sports car but with its price range it satisfy my urge for speed and performance while I still dream of a supercar. Maybe I won't even want one anymore. |

GT-R is a hundred thousand dollar car. We're talking sub $50k market demographic, where the bread &butter is. (volume sales) Last edited by UNKNOWN_370; 01-18-2013 at 02:28 PM. |

As long as the car continues to be a value it will sell to the type of buyers who have been into Z's from the beginning. Once it starts to lose that "bang for the buck" factor, I think you'll see sales decline. |

i don't mean volume sales of the Z. I mean offering a sports car to the volume sales market, the under $50k market. Sorry i wasn't clearer. |

im happy with what nissan did with the Q50. they are going in a good direction. not worried because if the next Z is trash ill get a used GTR. Especially if the Z will be the same price as a used GTR in two years.

My Z isn't going anywhere... So i'm not worried in that way. The Z34 is a keeper. But I will have it paid by the end of this year. So by the year after I will be looking for another sports car.
I really WANT TO add another Z!!! but if not????? I would love a used GTR but the estimate in maintenance costs cost thousands a year. The way i drive, I'd go through tires and Brake pads too often, not to mention basic costs. Besides $60k for something used? I thought about it deeply... Can't do it. I'm interested in what the next gen camaro will offer or the new corvette. The next mustang looks very promising but not sure about owning a mustang. It would have to be "The Shyt" to make the transition. I will probably trade the Altima I bought my wife and upgrade her to a Q50. But the next car for me is in question. |

Looks are a big factor for me, even if the new Z is faster but lets say its like futuristic butt ugly that would really really suck compared to the design right now. I dont see how they are gonna top it! some even the prefer the 370z looks over a GTR that says alot... out.
all i know is im glad im leasing my Z, i can either hop into the new one or buy this one out. I dont think ill be able to afford and M3 or Z06 by 2015... |
