Not to resurrect an old post, but I'd be interested in anyone's experiences with premature wearing of the cloth seats.
In shopping for a 370Z, I just saw a 2017 with only 6k miles - and the stitching on the mid part of the driver's seat (the diagonal stitch) was completely worn way for about 3-4 inches. It looks like the result of the driver sliding into and out of the seat. Other parts of the drivers seat also showed noticeable wear and were thin. I expect any seat material to wear, but, to completely wear away stitching after 6k miles? Has anyone else seen or experienced anything similar to this? Thank you! |

it's hard to keep seats looking new but care can be taken to cut down wear. this goes for cloth and leather. of all the cars i've own my bww 330xi with leatherette was the best wearing. basically it's fake leather but does look like the real deal. after 75k miles they still looked brand new. maybe nissan should offer this option.

I agree. I had a Bimmer with leatherette and after 10 years it looked brand new. That said, I don't like leather of any ilk. I much prefer cloth seats. Don't slide around. My Z is a 2010 and the cloth seats show very little wear. I only weigh 135 lbs so maybe that has something to do with it.
