can I trust Dealer Installation?
I am getting a 13' Nismo with Bose and Illuminated Kickplate.
But it doesn't have the in-mirror rearview camera. Rearview camera is available under dealer installed options. But, can I really trust the dealer to install this? knowing that on a brand new car, panels have to be popped open for installing camera/harness is a bit nerve wrecking for me. I'd rather have them already installed in Japan, but doesn't seem to have an option.. Please suggest!! Thanks in advance. |

why are you worried? You have warranty, and they did it. If they **** up they will fix everything they jacked up.
NIssan scratched my anniversary rim and got me a brand new one. Just go do it. I do suggest you got to a reputable one atleast. |

A good thing about the dealer is that they will take responsibility for their work. A better dealer will inspect your car at check in and take responsibility for their work.

thanks guys.
still just a little worried about the technicians that will install this. they better not break any plastic clips, scratch or drill or mount the camera at a different location than Factory OEM installed ones. |

Like others have said, if Nissan dealership f**ks up things they will have to fix it or get you a new one. I don't understand why you worry so much. If you don't trust a Nissan dealership install an OEM part onto a Nissan car, where else you would trust?

If you're that worried just learn to do it yourself. Otherwise, not much to complain about it should be fine. If they totally screw it up they'll fix it but if you can't do it yourself I doubt you'll notice their screw up unless very obvious.

my dealer installed the illuminated side sills and the sport package diffuser and splash guards. it was part of the package so i didnt get to choose.
the diffuser and sidesills they did fine. but the rear right splashguard... wtf. i think you can trust them, but before work show them you have no scratches (take picts even), then verify together with the service advisor after the work is done. dont drive off the lot until you are 100% satisfied. |

I don't really trust dealers to work on my car.
Last dealership I went to I brought my stock 1997 240sx to get the waterpump changed (Should have done myself). Two NISSAN techs came outside and complimented my on my R33 skyline. When I told them it was a stock 240sx one asked me if I knew I had a skyline front conversion on it Got my car back 2 hours later and go a mile down the road, car overheats. I look under the hood and they had forgotten to put ANY coolant back in the radiator Returned to the dealership and they filled it back up. The next day I was driving and my water pump belt grenaded I've swapped engines, transmissions, done turbo builds and done a frame off resto with no problems. Crappy Nissan dealership can't even replace a waterpump.
