The dealer once scrap the buttom of my front lip, I complaint to the Service Manager. So he wan't in that day next day he called me and apologies and asked me what he culd do to fix this problem.

Since the scratch is barely visible to anyone we agree in a few things.

They installed my steering lock for free and my car is parked inside the bay everytime I take the car to the dealer and they are done with the work.

So know I get VIP treatment.

But it doesn't have the in-mirror rearview camera.

Rearview camera is available under dealer installed options.
But, can I really trust the dealer to install this?
knowing that on a brand new car, panels have to be popped open for installing camera/harness is a bit nerve wrecking for me.

I'd rather have them already installed in Japan, but doesn't seem to have an option..

Please suggest!! Thanks in advance.
I installed mine in an afternoon. It's not a difficult task to perform, really.

Really appreciate the pictures.
i decided to get the one already coming in february, and have the dealer install the rearview camera and mirror as part of a deal. factory order would take ~5 months since the next ordering process for this dealer was march.

Was taking apart A-pillar, panels and weather strips pain in the butt?
it looked like it could be a little pain when i saw the installation manual.

The a-pillar was probably the toughest panel to come off. The base of it was the trouble. Weather strips came off and went back on with no issue. I started a thread about a tool I use (not door panel tool) that made it very simple and left no scratches or misformed plastic.

Reviving this thread.

So basically, my moral of the story is:

No i aint ever fuking trust dealership installation. they fuked my rearview camera, speaker, and all the dash trims on a brand new vehicle. Sterling McCall Nissan on highway 59 Houston Texas to be exact.

Brand new and under warranty. Take it back over and over until its fixed. Complain to GM and complain to Nissan. They will fix it.

This is the key^^^

Always have them go over your vehicle prior to them taking it in. This avoids confusion and blame later on.

When I told them it was a stock 240sx one asked me if I knew I had a skyline front conversion on it Got my car back 2 hours later and go a mile down the road, car overheats. I look under the hood and they had forgotten to put ANY coolant back in the radiator Returned to the dealership and they filled it back up. The next day I was driving and my water pump belt grenaded

I've swapped engines, transmissions, done turbo builds and done a frame off resto with no problems. Crappy Nissan dealership can't even replace a waterpump.
was that a Friday?

I had a local stereo shop install mine. Charged 2 hours labor at $75 per hour and did a great job.

the diffuser and sidesills they did fine. but the rear right splashguard... wtf.

i think you can trust them, but before work show them you have no scratches (take picts even), then verify together with the service advisor after the work is done. dont drive off the lot until you are 100% satisfied.

from my experience, No.

Dealerships are incompetent from my experience. IF they mess it up will they fix it? Maybe, they never fixed my slave cylinder recall correctly though. Also smashed up my floor boards TWICE due to an improper lift. Didn't accept responsibility till the second time. I had to pay the first.
