What do you base that claim on?

i agree that the Z feels like a sport sedan (minus nimble steering response) than a traditional "sports car" we're accustomed to, but the price issue is not something nissan has much control over due to the exchange rate.

was at JPY78-79 for the longest time, just importing into the US made the car expensive.

also, stiff suspenion on other sports cars might be good for some folks, but i prefer a fast car that can take on the streets in comfort and stability. z's suspension is just that in stock form.

just test drive all cars and see which one you like better. i made a mistake getting a z in ohio. hate driving in snow/rain. when summer time hits, the z is by far the sexiest mofo out there.
Buy new exhaust (essential), turn the stereo up. The Z is just fine in the rain especially with proper tires. Just because you gave up so easily doesn't mean other people won't prepare their vehicles for the weather they will be driving in.

LATERAL ACCELERATION 1.01 g (avg) Not bad for a car that some think is equal to a sports sedan. Given the dollar value, this car exceeds plenty of others costing more, and will routinely exceed the capabilities of most who drive it. Great review here the OP might want to read:

feeling like a sports sedan while pulling big numbers is a good thing, DLSTR.
choppy riding sports cars are old news to me and not desired.

-You can get employee pricing or invoice anywhere.
-WRX and EVO are both a bit more practical.
-Other cars you could consider are BMW 3 series coupes, 1 series, Audi A4/A5.

Here's what my heart has to say to you:

-The 370z is by far the sexiest out of all the aforementioned cars.

I just picked up a 2013 370z Pearl White Sport. I was considering all these same cars. I think to be honest with you, if I lived in rainy/snowy weather, I'd go with something AWD. But if you can manage it, try to get the 370!
^^^This is the same thing on my mind. I have owned a Suabaru since 1986. I have a 2002 now. I love the WRX, but the 370Z was "it" when I saw and drove one. I am in Michigan so the roads are similar. I have Continental DW series and they are great for Dry roads and not so much for anything else> So the right tire for all rear driving would be critical.
I might even suggest getting another set of cheap 18" Nissan rims and getting some Blizzak tires for the winter. I have Blizzaks on the Chrysler Town and Country and they great in the winter.
My Z is in the garage for the winter season. I will take it out on nice dry days after the salt has been washed off the road. I have a winter beater for the bad days- a '91 pathfinder. That way I don't worry about the idiots out there.

The Subaru would be a great all season car though. I cannot justify the cost, cheap interior, so so outside looks and insurance.

my nismo is my DD(originally intended to be a weekend car but i decided otherwise lol) and i love it, when roads are really bad, you feel it but then again you will feel it in every other car as well

honestly it depends on what you want to do with your car, are you going to take it up to the mountains and go snowboarding and such? if so then you would want a subaru(dont buy the evo, they stopped making them and the used ones you will find are always someones failed project car) because the AWD and extra room are worth it, however if you are like me and you drive around town and drive on back roads, whether rain or shine, i would drive my Z because it always puts a big smile on my face

If you must have a backseat, the genesis by hyundai and mustang by ford 2012-2013 only make some great choices.

People, even on this forum still fail to see that the value of the 370Z is not based on it's competitors, but the market it's self. Sales have been steady in the midst of Mustangs, Camaro's, Genesis's, Evo's, and STI's. Everyone wants a little bit of what makes another car great in their own car, then lose sight as to what makes the Z great. As a sports car, it is damn good at doing everything except carry more than two people! The Z works fine as a DD. The maintenance is not bad, it's very intimate and makes a great date car. Sports cars are like tits, everyone loves them. Might as well get one that actually looks like a sports car Look into Nissans VPP pricing to get an idea of what kind of deal you can get. And if you do purchase a Z, it's imperative you buy it with a sport package, don't consider it an option. Expect to pay a lot for replacement tires and oil changes using good oil (I stick with Nissans Ester & Redline).

I guess "steady" is relative:

2009:13,117

2010:10,215

2011:7328

2012:7338

Sales have stabilized around around the same levels within 1H and 2H from 2011 on, but there was pronounced impact from other cars being introduced before that.

Get the Z!! if you live in an area with snow in the winter you will need winter tires, or a winter beater car. I have winter tires on my Z (blizzak LM-60's) and it preformed great in the last snowstorm. I dd my Z and have about a 70 mile round trip to work each day. I put a pretty decent amount of miles on it and it has preformed excelent with no problems at all so far....only had it 10 months but still..I do about 70% highway driving and get 23 mpg. I would recommend getting a clear front bumper bra if you get a Z as the nissan paint isnt known to be the best. I regret not getting one when I bought the car, I'll probably get one at some point if I get the paint corrected. Anyways, GET THE Z!!!!
