tech they are different cars. 10HP is 10HP also. regardless either porcshe with any of there performance upgrades (brakes, exhaust, etc...) plus some comfort options its way too much money for the poor man' porsche. 911 is the way to go.....or TT cayenne lol

I don't think there are any actual hardware differences between the Cayman and Boxster engines. I believe it is just an ECU change, making the difference between the two much less than a Nismo 370 and a Sport 370. I know for a fact that no one has chosen one or the other based off that 10hp..
But I agree, soft tops ruin the look of any car I've seen, but they are just suchhhhh a joy to drive. I really do think they have the best roadster for under 60K. But is the cayman the best coupe under 60Kish? I don't know.. Oh but the Z4 do have hard tops convertibles. The only Porsches I would get are Cayenne GTS; 911 S, GT3, GTS; or a used Boxster Spyder with all the delete options (AC, small battery, radio, so on). Just my 2¢

If I hit lotto tomorrow. The first two cars going immediately in the stable will be a Nissan GT-R and a Porsche 911 turbo. Then I'd order a Ferrari 458 Italia.
The porsche cayman is a weird car to me. I love it... From Style, ergonimocs, seat positioning and feel. I just think that Porsche should have found a way to keep repair costs down, and to keep the cost from rising above $60k. The z may be crude and coarse compared to a Cayman but it's fun, cheap and can perform on the same level. If I were to spend the more realistic cost of $70+k for a porsche cayman S. I would look at other cars instead. the Corvette Z06 BMW M3 or even an entry 911, which offer what i consider a next level performance experience. No doubt the cayman is refined and better balanced sports machine by comparison to a Z. Just not worth double the Z price. Last edited by UNKNOWN_370; 01-08-2013 at 09:51 AM. |
